CWS Harrisonburg serves and advocates for refugees, asylum seekers, unaccompanied children, and immigrants in the Shenandoah Valley.

Provides the traditional fitness amenities such as cardiovascular equipment, strength equipment, group exercise, water exercise, massage therapy, indoor track and locker room. Offers aquatic and land aerobic classes designed for special needs including arthritis. Supervised exercise programs are available for individuals with special/chronic needs.

The Prince William Area Agency on Aging (the Agency) offers health insurance counseling assistance to older adults, their families and caregivers through the Virginia Health Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP). VICAP educates, counsels and assists individuals in understanding Medicare, long term care insurance, and other health benefits plans and programs.

Responsible for building, maintaining and operating the state's roads, bridges and tunnels. Provides motorist assistance, citizen complaints/comments, information requests.

Environmental Health Specialists work to protect drinking water and groundwater resources by ensuring sanitary handling and disposal of sewage and protection of drinking water supplies. Issue sewage disposal system construction permits and inspect finished sewage disposal systems. Issue construction permits for drinking water wells to make sure they are located and constructed properly. Inspect and permit businesses which pump septic tanks and dispose of sewage. Investigate reports of sewage spills or other kinds of groundwater contamination.

Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP). Provides skills through on-the-job training in such fields as office work, health care, food services and education. Also provides placement in part-time employment.

Every Woman's Life provides access to FREE breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services for low income and uninsured women.

The Neurodiagnostic Sleep Lab performs sleep studies to diagnose and treat common sleep disorders including sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, nocturnal myoclonus and narcolepsy.

Administers taxes and assists in tax preparation.

A form of mental health psychotherapy featuring interactions with equines. Clients work towards therapeutic goals in a session by interacting with the equines. It is an alternative to traditional, sit down talk therapy; however, the goals are the same as talk therapy. During sessions clients often see the equine(s) as metaphors to something related to their goals. Some activities are designed and incorporated by the team to help the client reach their therapeutic goals, but these activities never involve mounted work.

Provides direct services to victims and witnesses of crime. These services are defined as those efforts that respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims, assist victims of crime to stabilize their lives after victimization, assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and provide victims with information and referrals for services.

Serves youth involved in risky behiors and their families. An initial risk assessment is completed to determine the youth's risk factors. Some of the services implemented are evidence based and designed to reduce the youth's risk level. Services include Decision Points; Substance Abuse Groups; Healthy Youth Initaitive, Pre-Truancy Program and Middle School Suspension Program. The goal is to encourage youth to become responsible, respectful, and productive members of the community.

Services include acute, sub-acute and intermediate rehabilitation programs for the orthopedic, cardiovascular and neurological patient. Provides intermediate care in a traditional nursing facility setting, respite care, Alzheimer's care, and hospice care. Offer our patients individualized pharmacy services, vitalstim therapy, in-house rehabilitation, and skilled nursing.

Offers copies of death certificates to appropriate parties for deaths occurring in the last 5 years. (Older deaths, please use state vital records office.) All birth certificates are issued from the Richmond Bureau of Vital Statistics.

This program prevents the displacement of individuals and families from their homes as a result of eviction or foreclosure. A short-term rental assistance program offered to individuals and/or families who are in financial crisis or who are facing homelessness. This program is part of the Balance of State Continuum of Care. We work with our local planning group (LPG) in collaboration with People, Inc. Provide services in Tazewell County, and People, Inc. provides centralized intake and assessment for each of the participating localities.

The emergency services include a food pantry stocked with fresh food, non-perishable items, utility assistance, and personal care items.

Residents of Covington and Alleghany County can receive free tax preparation assistance through the local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, administered by the Alleghany County Commissioner of the Revenue.
