Infant/Toddler Family Day Care (ITFDC) sponsors the USDA Child Care Food Program for children in family child care homes. Family child care providers who participate in the USDA Child Care Food Program receive reimbursements for meals and snacks served to children in care and receive training on nutrition, menu planning, budgeting, food safety, and children's nutrition activities.

Provides Campus Community Partnerships for Research, free research and analytical study to non-profit community agencies. Projects are advised by trained researchers (faculty) and carried out by students. Students and faculty will work with the proposing agency, organization, or individual to address a community-identified need.

BabyCare provides pregnant women with the support and services they need through intensive case management and coordination of care. The program aims to improve birth outcomes by ensuring pregnant women and infants receive all the services they need.

A 60-bed facility that detains juveniles ordered through the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court systems serving the cities of Danville and Martinsville and the counties of Halifax, Henry, Mecklenburg, Patrick and Pittsylvania.

Provides a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) for all special education children ages two to twenty-one. An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is developed for each child who qualifies for special education services under IDEA. The IEP is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the individual child. Provides an elementary educational institute and preschool that offers adaptations for test taking, audiological evaluation and diagnosis and Child Find Service for disabled students.

Provides low income families with financial resources to find and afford quality child care for their children.

Provides supplemental payments for aged, blind, or disabled individuals living in Home for Adults. Payment is made to the home and Medicaid is included.

Foster care provides temporary care of children who can no longer remain in their home due to difficulties in the family situation. Services also include counseling, training, and other support services to help stabilize the family while working to return the child home.

Assists low-income families with children ages and 6 and under and pregnant women with access to medical and dental services and acts as a link to other human service organizations/providers in the NRV. Offers comprehensive case management in the home where children receive consistent and comprehensive care in a familiar setting. CHIP services, provided by a nurse and a home visitor team, include helping families make and keep appointments and follow physician recommendations, educational home visits, parenting education, helping families set and reach personal and family goals, transportation to medical and dental appointments, medical case management, and referrals to other community-based services to help meet the multifaceted needs of families. All services emphasize prevention and early intervention. This is not the state CHIP insurance, but will help families access Medicaid or FAMIS (state CHIP insurance). Not a substance abuse/ mental health provider but can connect families to those resources. Transports only if no other means available.

Provides comprehensive nursing and domiciliary care to Commonwealth of Virginia residents who are admitted to the JCVCC. The 128-bed facility is organized into communities (64 beds), with two neighborhoods (32 beds). Each neighborhood includes two households (16 beds) with adjoined access to a courtyard. The households feature all private rooms each with its own bathroom and walk in shower as well as a spacious dining room, kitchenette, and dayroom. This person-centered approach creates a true sense of community and home, which supports providing our Veteran residents the opportunity to have as good or better quality of life than before they came to us.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp Program) provides a basic safety net to millions of people by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income families which can be used to purchase food. Assistance is in the form of debit cards to help families increase their food purchasing power in order to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of two components; Fuel Assistance (FA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The FA component is intended to provide supplemental assistance to offset the rising costs of heating expenses. The CAP component is intended to provide assistance with heating equipment needs and emergency fuel outages. Fuel Assistance opens the second Tuesday in October. The last day for applying is the second Friday in November. Main Qualifications: Have a heating need, meet the income and resource levels, include all persons living in the household, live in an eligible living arrangement and meet the citizenship requirements. Crisis Assistance applicants must meet the following: income level, resource level. Deposits: Opens the first working day in November. May only receive once per lifetime per fuel type. (Natural gas, electric and LP gas) Heating Equipment: Opens November 1st or the first working day in November for Replacement, purchase, or repair of primary heating source. Primary Fuel: Opens the first working day in January. It is for those that did not receive fuel assistance. Requires cut off notice for electric and gas. Almost out of fuel oil, wood, coal or island purchased kerosene. Cooling Assistance: has been offered during the summer. If offered the state sends out the requirements and policy during or close to summer.

Provides a newly renovated 8 unit townhouse complex in Bealeton, VA, owned and operated by the Fauquier Housing Corporation. Countryside Townhomes is a federally funded complex providing affordable rents to lower income families. Each two-story unit is equipped with a washer, dryer, garbage disposal, heat pump, mini-blinds, and storage shed.

Supplementary assistance for the cost of burials for indigent Residents of Norfolk. The agency will provide a $500 payment in the form of a credit order to the Customer. The credit order is made payable to the funeral home of the applicants choice. The majority of the funeral homes in the area are participating vendors, with the exception of Woodlawn.

Provides an animal shelter for unwanted, abandoned, stray and impounded animals. The Rockbridge SPCA is obligated morally, ethically, and legally to enforce ordinances and to shelter animals in such a way as to insure the public safety of all species and to show respect for the dignity and worth of all creatures. The Rockbridge SPCA serves the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista and the County of Rockbridge.
