Safety improvements may include repairing an unsafe heating system or installing carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. All work is done by a properly certified, licensed, and insured professional team of Energy Auditors, Home Performance Contractors, and a Quality Control Inspector.

The project:HOMES Weatherization/Energy Conservation Program helps low-income homeowners reduce energy costs and improve comfort by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The program prioritizes services to the elderly, people with disabilities and families with children.

Assists low income households in Tazewell and Russell Counties who have unsafe heating systems to repair and replace their heating systems. Applications can be made through each local Department of Social Services from November 1 through March 31. Provides testing on heating equipment to determine if system needs to be repaired or replaced. Replaces heating equipment as deemed necessary to provide a safe heating system for the client. Provides education to the client with helpful tips on how to clean coils and change filters.
