Teenagers who are pregnant or parenting their first newborn are eligible to receive adult mentoring services from women who have raised children of their own. Mentors reinforce basic health education related to pregnancy and parenting such as nutrition, infant growth and development, coping skills, and the importance of receiving health care services for themselves and for their infants. Resource Mothers help young parents keep medical appointments, develop plans for the baby’s care, stay in school or continue working, delay repeat pregnancies until adulthood, and solve the myriad of day-to-day problems involved in being a new parent.

Oxford House, Inc. is a network of self-run, self-supported recovery homes for members recovering from alcohol and substance abuse throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia (DC). We provide separate houses for men and women and some houses accept children with parent. When an individual is accepted for membership in an Oxford House, there is no time limit on how long he or she can live there, but the use of alcohol or drugs or non-payment of rent will result in expulsion. There is no clean time required to move into an Oxford House. All houses are near local transportation including buses and subways. Wheelchair accessibility varies by location.

Virginia Beach Community Living Centers provides supportive services and independent living to adult men and women with intellectual disabilities. In this residential program individuals partner with Volunteers of America Chesapeake staff members to develop person centered plans and participate in life-skills training and human growth and development activities geared towards developing each individual's highest potential. Many of the individuals in our program are employed or participate in programs throughout the community to help strengthen their sense of community involvement and independence. Services are provided to impaired persons 18 years of age and older, persons of 60 years of age and older, and to their families when appropriate. The services provided include, but are not limited to : assisting in placement such as in an adult home, nursing homes, etc.; companion services designed to assist a person who is unable to care for themselves and needs assistance with activities of daily living; and nursing home/personal care screenings performed by the Adult Services Worker for persons who receive Medicaid or will receive within a 6 month period. These services are intended to maximize self-sufficiency, prevent abuse/neglect/exploitation, and to prevent, delay, and/or reduce inappropriate institutionalization.

Cardinal Care Smiles is Virginia's dental program for Medicaid, FAMIS, or FAMIS Plus. Members who are enrolled in Cardinal Care Smiles and are 20 years of age or younger receive comprehensive dental benefits. Comprehensive dental benefits are also available to pregnant members enrolled in Medicaid and FAMIS MOMS, as well as Medicaid members over the age of 21. There are no costs associated with dental care services in the Cardinal Care Smiles program. Cardinal Care Smiles is a program offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and is managed by DentaQuest. The member support service team is available to assist Virginia Medicaid members in finding a participating dental provider. Member Services can help with claims, prior authorizations, transportation, and any questions regarding policies and procedures. Adults can access non-emergency transportation services to receive dental care. For adults enrolled in a managed care organization (MCO), transportation will be provided through their MCO, except for those enrolled in FAMIS. Adults in fee-for-service will receive transportation services from ModivCare (formerly LogistiCare), which is the transportation broker for DMAS. which is the transportation broker for DMAS.
