The Embry Rucker Community Shelter (ERCS) is a 70-bed residential shelter that provides emergency housing for adults without children who need shelter. Adults without children who need shelter should contact ERCS directly at 703-437-1975. Adults with children (families) seeking emergency shelter should call Fairfax County’s Coordinated Services Planning at 703-222-0880. Families need to contact Coordinated Services Planning for an eligibility assessment at 703-222-0880 to receive a referral for services to ERCS.

Mercy Mall is a ministry providing free clothing, shoes, baby items, housewares, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to individuals and families experiencing crisis situations. A crisis may include, but not limited to, recent or current homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse recovery, bed bug/mold infestation recovery, house fire, or anything that causes a person to not have necessary items for themselves and their families.

Provides education, objectively counsels and assists consumers on medical benefit programs and problems with Medicare, Medicaid, medical bill paying and long term care insurance. Counselors receive special training and supervision on health insurance counseling issues. They are not connected with any insurance company nor are they licensed to sell insurance.

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). A program to provide nutritional food to low-income individuals and families. Plastic card and pin number distributed to recipient which will be scanned by grocery store employee for approved purchases. If card is lost or stolen, recipient needs to contact their caseworker. EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards are available within (7) days if the criteria is met for those with little to no income. Replacement of card will deduct $2.00 from upcoming food stamp benefits.
