TANF-Temporary Assistance for Needy Families provides temporary, time-limited, financial assistance to eligible families with children. To be eligible, a family must be in financial need as well as meet all categorical requirements and conditions of eligibility.

You can apply for copies of birth certificates, marriage licenses and divorce decrees from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Office of Vital Records. There is a fee for each copy requested. Death certificates are filed in the city or county health department where the death occurred, not in county in which the person lived. Our health departments keep records up to 5 years and can provide copies of certificates on file. You may call in the information, and copies will be ready when you arrive (allow at least one-half hour). Please be prepared to show your photo I.D. when picking up a death certificate. Central Virginia Crime Stoppers, Inc. is a non-profit 501C(3) corporation that brings together law enforcement, the community and the news media in a joint effort to solve crime. This project represents an unprecedented level of law enforcement cooperation and support. The program pays cash rewards up to $1,000 to people who call the special tip line and give enough information to help solve felony crimes

An effective self-management education program for people with chronic health problems. CDSMP workshops meet 2 hours per week for 6 weeks. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders. CDSMP deals with problems associated with chronic disease, appropriate exercise, proper use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, and, how to evaluate new treatments.

Rappahannock Adult Activities, Inc. (RAAI) is a community-based developmental day program that promotes dignity, independence, individualization, inclusion, and productivity of people with intellectual disabilities in their community.

Administers Parks and Recreation programs that are dedicated to the enhancement of life for all people in Fauquier County. Working in partnership with the people, the Department seeks to assure that citizens of Fauquier County will receive quality recreational facilities and services. The Department also seeks to assure the preservation of local history.

Assist TANF/VIEW participants with career counseling, placement assessment, work site placement, supportive services and job leads. Anyone who receives TANF and is not exempt will be referred to the VIEW Program. VIEW is short for Virginia Initiative for Employment not Welfare. Referrals will participate 35 hours per week in an assigned activity. The program offer opportunities in education, job skills training, work experience, job readiness training, and other locally developed activities in support of participants in becoming self-sufficient.

Adoption Center provides a safe haven for homeless pets until they go to their forever homes. All Adoption Center animals have an examination, vaccinations, tests and parasite treatment upon arrival. They are spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Free legal services for indigent individuals and families in civil legal matters such as family law, domestic violence, housing, consumer and public benefits. Services provided range from counsel and advice to full representation in court and administrative hearings. No criminal cases. In partnership with people with disabilities and their families, the Division of Rehabilitative Services collaborates with the public and private sectors to provide and advocate for the highest quality services that empower individuals with disabilities to maximize their employment, independence and full inclusion into society. Provided by Peer Support Specialists, who are people that are currently in recovery from mental illness. Offers services in all outpatient offices as well as all four of the psychosocial rehabilitation programs. Services provided include group activities, education, and WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) groups.
