SNAP can be used like cash to buy eligible food items from authorized retailers. Authorized retailers will display either the Quest logo or a picture of a Virginia EBT card. A SNAP account is established for eligible households and automatic deposits are made into the account each month. To access the account, they will also receive an EBT Card, which will debit the account each time eligible food items are purchased. A secret Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required to use the card.

This home ownership program supports low income families in attaining affordable permanent housing. The program partners with the family and volunteers to build a simple, decent home. Families are expected to complete 300 hours of sweat equity (volunteer labor) toward the building of habitat homes. Families must participate in an educational program. The home is sold to the family at a minimal cost with a no interest mortgage.

Offers non-perishable groceries to families in need.

Provides protection for adults from abuse and neglect. Investigates and responds to reports of suspected abuse of disabled adults over age 18 and any person over age 60. Compass is a personalized service to help with complex challenges, including understanding insurance basics, troubleshooting insurance coverage issues, seeking financial assistance for medical care and other living expenses, finding answers to legal questions related to work, school, disability/government benefits, and much more.

Provides subsidized housing vouchers to qualified low income to moderate income families, elderly and people with disabilities. Participants are required to find their own housing, including single-family homes, town homes and apartments.

Person-centered Aging Services Coordination is an interactive decision support process where people are supported in making long-term support choices that reflect their unique preferences, strengths, needs, values, and circumstances. Aging Services Coordination is provided by individuals trained and practicing according to Virginia's Statewide Standards.

St. Anne's Episcopal Church assist between 50 to 90 families depending on the time of the year. Food is both purchased and donated, being distributed on the fourth Saturday of the month unless there is a holiday and then it is distributed on the third Saturday.

The immunization program in Rappahannock Rapidan Health District provides the following services to the community. Immunizations are offered to infants, children, adolescents and adults: 1. Provides recommended and required immunizations in accordance with ACIP and AAP recommendations. 2. Educates the public and private sector regarding immunization practices and general vaccination policy, to assure public safety. 3. Participates with the Vaccine for Children program, offering vaccinations required for school. 4. Participates in a number of community events to promote immunizations.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly the Food Stamp Program) provides a basic safety net to millions of people by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income families which can be used to purchase food. Assistance is in the form of debit cards to help families increase their food purchasing power in order to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.

Provides academic and mentoring support by qualified professional tutor from the business and professional community for all students but targeting African American male students who have been suspended from a Virginia Beach public school for more than one day and intend to return to school to complete their educational pursuit. The program also gives opportunities for suspended students to make positive contributions to their community while suspended from school.

Volunteer Fairfax is the designated lead agency for recruitment and deployment of affiliated and spontaneous volunteers during an emergency. Manages donations and spontaneous volunteers during an emergency and activates a Volunteer Reception Center when called upon to do so by the Fairfax County Department of Emergency Management and Security (DEMS) and/or the City of Fairfax Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Serves as a connection between county government and nonprofits throughout recovery efforts. Serves as a voice for volunteer management and training on disaster and emergency-based committees and councils. Works with volunteer centers of the National Capital Area to further strengthen mutual aid compacts and communications planning.

Pregnant women are provided medical examinations, education regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors including nutrition, breastfeeding, exercise, and safety, and referrals to other agencies. Offers case management including identification of needs and coordination of resources for accessing appropriate and timely services to pregnant women and their children up to age two.

The program provides monthly checks to people who are age 65 and older, or blind, or have a disability and who have limited income and resources. Off street parking is provided and program is accessible by bus and internally accessible for the handicapped.
