Therapeutic Foster Care is a temporary arrangement in which approved caregivers open their hearts and home to provide safe, loving, and nurturing care for youth whose birth family are unable to care for them. Therapeutic foster parents receive specialized training and additional support services to care for youth who experience a variety of needs. These needs may include: emotional, behavioral, or social challenges, complex medical needs, physical or intellectual disabilities or who may have experienced multiple placements within the foster care system.

NTSAD advocates for families and persons of all ages with disabilities on an individual, state and national level as requested on issues such as health insurance coverage and government (supplemental) funding.

Intensive In-Home Services provide support, guidance, and skills training for children who are at risk of being removed from their home due to serious behavioral issues. The Villa works with families to find fresh approaches to breaking the cycle of destructive behaviors. Services provided include: • Crisis intervention and diagnostic assessments • Collaboration with parents/guardians to create an effective, positive behavioral management system • Caregiver training and support • Individual and family counseling • Care coordination with schools and community resources to create a stable environment • Individualized approaches that focus on the unique needs of the child and family • A 24-hour emergency response system, including weekends • Comprehensive discharge planning • Referrals for additional services as needed

The Inclement Weather Shelter will operate 11/15 - 4/15, hours of operation are daily from 5PM-8AM, entrance is in the back of the building. If temperatures drop below 40 degrees, the shelter will remain open. Dinner and Breakfast will be served.

The district is active in health education activities including community screenings, referral and counseling.

Partnership clinic sites are located at other service organizations such as food pantries, homeless shelters, churches and outreach locations. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs.

A 31 bed separate post acute rehabilitation center. Offers a 26 bed assisted living unit. Private and semi-private rooms are available. Provides medical rehabilitation services include speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Long term care services include: post operative care, wound care, and extensive nursing. Offers daily nurse practitioner rounds and regular physician visits. Provides across state lines doctor appointment transportation. Uses electronic medical records with remote access for physicians. Chronic disease self management program.

Feed More's Meals on Wheels program provides nutritious home-delivered meals to eligible homebound adults who cannot shop or cook for themselves.

WIC provides services for women, infants & children up to five years old who are at nutritional risk and have low income.

Provides secure and safe housing for prisoners. Offers 24-hour medical coverage with medical screening on admission.

Provides emergency financial assistance. Maintains a small fund to pay medical, utility, and rent expenses in emergencies for needy individuals. May assist with burial expense. Service subject to availability of funds.

Offers assisted living for seniors and Assisted Living Plus for those who require additional care, in a residential, homelike environment.

Provides emergency housing facility for homeless families primarily within Newport News and Hampton area. Services provided to residents participating in the program include case management, housing assistance, financial literacy, goal development, nutritional advice, health care assistance, employment assistance and children's activities.
