In addition, connect clients with local and state agencies for resources such as food, housing, emergency lodging, transportation, infant supplies, and employment assistance. Provides information and referral to military families regarding loan closet, food pantry, counseling, and other services. Individuals receiving Army Emergency Relief Loans are required to repay the loan amount (interest free). Grants are made when it is found that repayment would cause undue hardship. Information on military installations throughout the world is available to interested persons. Food Stamp information is provided for individuals. A loan closet has available dishes, baby cribs, kitchen utensils, etc. Agency now has a well-established and ever-growing budget counseling program to handle indebtedness. All of the counseling is done by paid staff.

The Child Care Assistance and Referral (CCAR) program provides resources and referrals to families about various center-based and family childcare programs located throughout the county. This program also offers financial assistance for childcare to eligible Fairfax County, City of Fairfax or City of Falls Church families, and support to childcare programs and providers.
