Provides a variety of home and community based services for children and adults with special needs in the New River Valley, Roanoke and surrounding areas. Promotes independence, increases daily living skills and personal empowerment, and improves quality of life of people in the program. Offers home and community based services and supports to children and adults with a diagnosis of intellectual disability, mental illness, developmental disability, or a dual diagnosis of intellectual disability or developmental disability and mental illness. Services include: *In Home Residential Support Services - offers home based training, assistance and supervision services for the individual to help them become more independent; *Mental Health Support Services, a home and community based program which includes training, assistance and monitoring for adults with a mental health diagnosis; *Therapeutic Consultation (Psychological); *Crisis Stabilization and Supervision Services, direct intervention to the individual if they are experience serious psychiatric or behavioral problems; *Service Facilitation that assists the family to set up consumer directed respite, companion care and personal attendant care; *Intensive In;Home Services, A home based counseling, education, crisis intervention, and case management service.

Medication management; therapeutic groups; job skills training/obtainment and retention; housing assistance; family support and education; substance abuse services; coordination of healthcare services; community involvemen;, functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual's health and safety; activities of daily living, and use of community resources; assistance with medication management; and monitoring health, nutrition, physical condition.

Services are designed to meet the needs of clients experiencing difficulties in their lives due to emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Provide transitional support and stabilization services to clients returning to the community from a more restrictive environment. The goal is to provide each client with individualized services and training so they can function as independently as possible. Each client will learn to utilize appropriate community resources to maintain stability in the least restrictive community setting.

A qualified staff member works one on one with individuals to teach them how to develop coping skills, access community resources, develop a natural support system, and locate safe and affordable housing. Mental Health Skill-Building Services (MHSS) works collaboratively with adults, age 18 years and older, to build skills that promote self-determination and empowerment. It provides training and education to assist individuals as they work towards stability, independent living, and bettering their daily lives. Individuals eligible for this service may have a dual diagnosis of either mental illness and intellectual disability or mental illness and substance use disorder.

Offers services to children and adolescents under age eighteen experiencing problems and disruption in their home, school, or community due to emotional disturbance and/or substance abuse. Provides treatment to support optimal functioning and to maintain the child in the community and/or least restrictive environment. Services include individual, family, and group counseling, play and expressive art therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, case management, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and discharge planning from state and private mental hospitals with linkage to community services. Therapy services are provided to detainees at Roanoke Valley Juvenile Detention Center.

Provides mental health supports meeting a wide range of needs associated directly with the mental illness itself and also with the accompanying issues that go along with every mental health diagnosis. SA/MH Outpatient Outpatient services consist of individual, group, and family counseling depending on the individuals need. Services will be offered at minimum an hour each week and treatment will cover topics such as coping skills, mental health wellness, anger management, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and other concerns persons with substance abuse and/or mental health issues may face.
