Pierce House is a residential facility for 10 adults with developmental disabilities that helps them achieve independence within the community. Clients are offered support for community living, psychosocial support services, and are taught daily living skills. Service in Wise County is provided in partnership with Planning District One Behavioral Health Services.

Merica House is home to individuals with a variety of severe physical disabilities.

Provides low income housing for elderly (age 62+) or disabled. Apply directly at the apartment building. Income guidelines apply.

SupportWorks’ model combines permanent, affordable housing with access to individualized supportive services. housing programs are primarily designed to serve individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and individuals with documented disabilities experiencing long-term or recurring homelessness.

Rush Homes provides accessible and affordable rental housing opportunities to adults with disabilities. Two of Rush Homes' developments offer permanent supportive housing to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. Partnered with Miriam's House to provide supportive services to meet the needs of each person. Additionally Rush Homes has set aside units for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are able to live independently with supportive services in place.

Region Ten's Adult Developmental Services Center offers a wide range of person-centered services designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities in living a safe, healthy, and productive life as independently as possible. These services include case management, group home residential, sponsored residential, in-home support services, independent living supports, day support services, and community engagement.

A residential program serving people with intellectual disabilities and other secondary disabilities such as emotional/behavioral problems or physical disabilities. Intensive long-term community residential program. Homes are available in Carroll and Wythe Counties and the City of Galax, VA.

Provides subsidized housing through USDA Rural Development Program for elderly (age 62+) and disabled individuals and families.

Operates group home and apartment programs for adults who have developmental disabilities. Accepts referrals from Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board or Virginia Dept. of Medical Assistance Services Medicaid waiver. Income limit applies to homes receiving Section 8 subsidy.

The following service options are available: (1) Residential Training in the individual's home to address personal care, use of community resources, adapting behavior to community/home environment, developing friends, redirecting anger, mobility, and transportation; (2) Personal assistance may be provided in all areas of personal care, activities of daily living, medical/medication needs, and other areas of health and safety; (3) Respite provides substitute care on a short term basis to relieve individuals responsible for primary care.

In-Home services are provided to adults and children throughout the Region Ten planning district. The 1:1 service in an individual’s home provides skill building and supports at home and in the community.

Provides a proprietary residential facility for senior citizens 62 year of age and over, and disabled individuals 18 years of age and older.

Clients are offered support for community living, respite services, and are taught daily living skills. Service in Washington County is funded by Highlands Community Services Board.

Horizon’s ICF programs offer adults with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability with active treatment in functional skills to create an environment in which the individual can not only live safely but can excel. Horizon’s ICFs also support individuals with a variety of medical and behavioral needs that require extensive supports to be healthy. High quality, comprehensive services are provided by Horizon's interdisciplinary team of ICF staff which includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, dieticians, recreational therapists, OT/PT speech therapists, residential technicians, counselors, family social workers, case managers, and citizen volunteers among others. All work together to monitor Service Treatment Plans, medical needs, and provide daily living support which includes full-service laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and more. The result is the ability to provide continuous, direct care twenty-four (24) hours per day, with 24/7 oversight and on-call availability after normal business hours.

The Arc of Central Virginia offers residential programs to help families maintain individuals with disabilities in a community setting. In-Home Support • Provides the individual with additional supports in the home and community, to learn new skills and increase independence • Acts as a supplement to the services and supports families provide on a day to day basis. The Arc provides staff for individuals so that family members can take an occasional break from the responsibility of caregiving. Independent Living Support A program that empowers individuals (18 and older) by offering skill building and support to secure a self-sustaining, independent living situation in the community and/or provides the support necessary to maintain those skills. The Arc provides staff to assist individuals in their own homes by training, reminding, observing, guiding, and supporting them with daily activities such as shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, banking, and personal care.
