Horizon’s ICF programs offer adults with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability with active treatment in functional skills to create an environment in which the individual can not only live safely but can excel. Horizon’s ICFs also support individuals with a variety of medical and behavioral needs that require extensive supports to be healthy. High quality, comprehensive services are provided by Horizon's interdisciplinary team of ICF staff which includes doctors, nurses, psychologists, dieticians, recreational therapists, OT/PT speech therapists, residential technicians, counselors, family social workers, case managers, and citizen volunteers among others. All work together to monitor Service Treatment Plans, medical needs, and provide daily living support which includes full-service laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and more. The result is the ability to provide continuous, direct care twenty-four (24) hours per day, with 24/7 oversight and on-call availability after normal business hours.

The Arc of Central Virginia offers residential programs to help families maintain individuals with disabilities in a community setting. In-Home Support • Provides the individual with additional supports in the home and community, to learn new skills and increase independence • Acts as a supplement to the services and supports families provide on a day to day basis. The Arc provides staff for individuals so that family members can take an occasional break from the responsibility of caregiving. Independent Living Support A program that empowers individuals (18 and older) by offering skill building and support to secure a self-sustaining, independent living situation in the community and/or provides the support necessary to maintain those skills. The Arc provides staff to assist individuals in their own homes by training, reminding, observing, guiding, and supporting them with daily activities such as shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, banking, and personal care.

Rush Homes provides accessible and affordable rental housing opportunities to adults with disabilities. Two of Rush Homes' developments offer permanent supportive housing to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. Partnered with Miriam's House to provide supportive services to meet the needs of each person. Additionally Rush Homes has set aside units for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are able to live independently with supportive services in place.
