The Emergency Home Accessibility and Repair program assists individuals with repairs and accessibility modifications that are urgent in nature and health and safety related. Frequently requested repairs involve water heaters, heating systems, electrical issues, and plumbing. Accessibiliy installations may include ramps and grab bars. CVACL screens contractors and assigns them to approved projects.

Provides urgent and major home repairs to prevent homeowners from injury.Addressing issues of deferred maintenance contributing to a home's deterioration, diminished functionality, or loss of value,Restoring or improving the safety or security of the home,The total value of the repair must be no more than $5000.

Provides financial assistance to low income families for home owner opportunities for single or multi-family housing. Provides rural utilities assistance and community programs.

Administers the Department of Planning and Community Development's Emergency Home Repair Program that provides emergency home repair assistance to low income property owners in the City of Fredericksburg. Services include roofing, plumbing and electrical repairs of an emergency nature for qualifying homeowners.

Provides basic home repair for low-income, also builds handicamp ramps, for elderly and disabled homeonwers.

Provides home repair that client can’t afford or do on their own. This is not for emergency repairs—getting help may take some time.

Addresses sub-standard housing conditions in South Boston and the Counties of Charlotte and Halifax. Priority given to low and moderate income homeowners, elderly and handicapped.

Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income homeowners who live in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to make exterior and interior home repairs that alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or housing code violations. From minor exterior repairs to critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and weatherization.

Loudoun Habitat for Humanity's Home Repair Program covers tasks such as: exterior painting and material repairs, landscaping, building or repairing ramps or sheds, building or repairing a porch or deck, gutter repair and cleaning, sidewalk repair, external cleanup, weatherization, and critical home repair.

Year-round volunteers provide labor and materials to rehabilitate the homes of DC and Alexandria's low income elderly, disabled residents and families with children, at no cost to the homeowner. Also assists non-profit agencies. Includes installing wheelchair ramps and lifts, stair lifts, grab bars, handrails, weatherizing, painting, yard work and other household repair and revitalization projects. Most work is done on the last Saturday of April but emergency work is done year-round.

Handles Virginia's Water Project, and Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation for the State of Virginia.

Offers financial assistance for small scale housing rehab/repairs with other local providers such as mission next neighbor, CAP and habit for humanity.

Volunteers donate time, labor, and materials to repair the homes of seniors, those with disabilities and low income families. Offers home modifications needed so clients with disabilities can remain safely in their homes. Includes carpentry, yard work, plumbing and electrical work. Call before visiting office to confirm that staff is available.

Handyhands is an extra set of hands to provide light maintenance around the house. Changing light bulbs, replacing faucet washers, replacing smoke alarm batteries, replacing faulty electrical receptacles, etc. are good descriptions of light maintenance. Shepherd's Center do not provide general contractor services, nor do the volunteers do yard work.

Provides a food pantry, free clothing and furniture, basic home repairs and limited financial assistance to eligible clients at a limited dollar amount.

Offers minor home repairs for people with low incomes.

Assists low-income families and individuals to remove imminent health and safety hazards from their homes. Acceptable repairs include the repair of roofs, floors, building of ramps and porches, heating system repair and structural repair. Funds are limited to $4000 per client; client must pay remainder of repair work and client is responsible for getting three bids from licensed contractors. These funds are provided by a very limited Essential Home Accessibility and Repair Program (EHARP) grant.

Handy helper volunteers assist clients by performing minor home repairs and yard maintenance. This service helps seniors to age in place in their homes and in their communities.

Provide lawn and land maintenance at low to no cost for disabled veterans, seniors and the disabled community. Service area is 20 miles from the Town of Bedford.

Weatherization assistance program for non-emergency energy conservation and energy-related heating, health and safety improvements. Priority to households with seniors, people with disabilities, and with children under 18. Possible help with rental units but may require owner/landlord match.

Offers fast but limited assistance to families and individuals that find themselves faced with a serious housing problem. Assists households with the removal of a health or safety deficiency.

Provision of companion, homemaker, or chore services to elderly in need of in-home services.

Typically, we assist with roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electric, hot water, well, and septic. We may be able to assist on other repairs as funding and labor are available, and dependent upon the number of ongoing repairs in the community.

A program that provides low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their home more energy efficient.
