The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides medicine used to treat HIV/AIDS to individuals who have limited or no health insurance coverage and low incomes.

Funding provided for fuel assistance and prescriptions. There are certain requirements that must be met in order to receive assistance, which will be approved by the Director. The Center will have a Financial Assistance Form you will need to complete. The center provides transportation and cost for birth certificate and/or DMV ID's.

The Medication Assistance Program (MAP) helps patients in two ways: - Providing discounts on some drugs from New Horizons Healthcare Pharmacy, located on the 1st floor of our building. - Providing access to free drugs offered by major pharmaceutical companies*. A federally qualified health center that accepts all insurances and offers sliding fee payments to those without insurance. All patients are served regardless of ability to pay. Services include: primary care services to include family medicine, pediatric and geriatric, minor surgery, minor emergency, immunizations, wellness screenings, patient education, lab, x-rays, ultrasound/ECHO, EKG, bone density, telemedicine, medication assistance program, dietitian, health and weight management program, enrollment and outreach, aesthetic laser services, behavioral health services and dental. Herndon-Reston FISH assists local residents in short-term crisis. FISH provides Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help by responding to emergency requests for rent, utilities, medical prescriptions, and other critical needs to stop destabilizing events.

Outpatient counseling services are brief in nature, often using "solution focused" or other brief models of behavior modification. Helps eligible area residents access affordable prescription medications offered by major pharmaceutical companies. Eligibility is based on residency, income, lack of prescription coverage, etc.

Provides a free clinic for residents of Gloucester and Mathews who do not have health insurance or who has medicaid. Services include a primary and chronic care clinic, dental clinic and prescription services.

Web site and call center have extensive database of discount or free prescription medications available according to eligibility requirements. PPA determines which program to refer to based on inquirer responses to questions about eligibility, trying to get the least costly alternative. Program takes approximately two weeks from the time the caller completes and returns a form sent to them in the mail or downloaded over the Internet.

Enrolls patients who qualify in pharmaceutical donation programs. Not all medications are available. Each company requires eligibility determination for medication requested (in addition to meeting clinic eligibility). No scheduled drugs/narcotics.

A medication assistance program to obtain prescription medications at no or low cost to eligible patients, directly from the manufacturer, based upon manufacturer eligibility guidelines. Due to the time frame required to process applications (by the manufacturers), this program is most suitable for medications taken chronically and not for medication needed immediately, such as antibiotics. No controlled substances (schedules II, III and IV) are requested by health department programs even though such pharmaceutical programs may exist.
