Emergency Assistance - Roanoke, Roanoke Area Ministries
Provides emergency financial assistance once every twelve months with utility disconnect bills, rent eviction or 5 day pay or quit notices, and prescriptions. Any resident outside of Southwest or Northwest Roanoke City will need to obtain a referral from an agency in their area of residence. Does NOT offer assistance with Oxford House rents.

Application process
Applications are accepted Monday and Tuesday only at 9 AM serving the first 10 people. Must apply, in person, in the Emergency Financial Aid office. Requires documentation: Photo ID for all over 18, Social Security Cards for all in household, proof of income, copies of ALL expenses, and a copy of the lease or mortgage. Applications can take 3 to 5 days to process. Utility bills must be in the name of someone on the lease and cannot be older or off more than 30 days.
