The Valentine offers hands-on, interactive programs for both students and adults in a continuing effort to bring Richmond's diverse history to life. Reservations must be made in advance. All education programs are compatible with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) requirements, and led by experienced Valentine educators. Programs are 60 minutes in length and include student workbooks.

Open University is a lifelong learning program of The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond. It features volunteer instructors from Richmond’s university and professional communities. Eight-week sessions are offered during the fall, winter and spring.
