Provides an elected, constitutional, law enforcement official, independent in his duties from both City and State. The office is responsible for the prosecution of all felony cases and all misdemeanor cases required by law or court order, and the provision of legal advice to elected officials upon request. The Office provides services which support the victims and witnesses involved in the various cases handled by the Office.

F.R.E.E. is a nonprofit that provides mobility rehabilitation equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, bedside commodes, shower chairs, etc., to help people regain their mobility and independence. FREE collects, sanitizes, and provides donated mobility equipment to low-income adults in Virginia who cannot afford it and whose insurance will not cover it.

The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components: Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. This program provides personal, social and behavioral skills training to improve an individual’s quality of daily life. The program’s primary focus is to facilitate independent living and self-empowerment, while operating in accordance with Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) Human Rights and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Rights regulations. Each individual has a private bedroom.
