Eligibility
You may be eligible for Mercy House programs if you are:
-At risk for needing shelter within the next 14 days
-Literally homeless via staying in a shelter, living on the street or in a car, or in a place not intended for habitation
-Willing to partner with a case manager to build and execute a housing plan
-Willing to comply with all program guidelines
-Able to provide proof of income
-Without other resources, including alternative housing options with family or friends

Households needing services should call Centralized Housing Intake at 540-271-1701 and it takes about 15 minutes to complete the screening.

ESG Prevention Program - Rental Assistance: The goals of the state ESG program are that individuals and families at-risk of being homeless to obtain and maintain appropriate permanent housing. ESG Rehousing - Form Homeless Individuals and families. Individuals and families experiencing homelessness obtain and maintain appropriate permanent housing. Will pay deposit, first months rent and utility deposits.

Mercy House
Provides transitional housing program for homeless families with at least one child under the age of 18. Also serves are the primary homeless services provider from Harrisonburg and Rockingham County including rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention services.
