This program prevents the displacement of individuals and families from their homes as a result of eviction or foreclosure. A short-term rental assistance program offered to individuals and/or families who are in financial crisis or who are facing homelessness. This program is part of the Balance of State Continuum of Care. We work with our local planning group (LPG) in collaboration with People, Inc. Provide services in Tazewell County, and People, Inc. provides centralized intake and assessment for each of the participating localities.

A wheelchair accessible tree house is also available. Each Summer Day Camp session is a week long and runs from 9:00AM-3:00PM each day, except on Fridays the camp ends at 2:00PM. There are three camp weeks each summer.

Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The FA component is intended to provide supplemental assistance to offset the rising costs of heating expenses. The CAP component is intended to provide assistance with heating equipment needs and emergency fuel outages. Fuel Assistance opens the second Tuesday in October. The last day for applying is the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance applicants must meet the following: income level, resource level. Deposits: Opens the first working day in November. May only receive once per lifetime per fuel type. (Natural gas, electric and LP gas) Heating Equipment: Opens November 1st or the first working day in November for Replacement, purchase, or repair of primary heating source. Primary Fuel: Opens the first working day in January. It is for those that did not receive fuel assistance. Requires cut off notice for electric and gas. Almost out of fuel oil, wood, coal or island purchased kerosene. Cooling Assistance: Is offered during the beginning in mid-June. Must meet eligibility requirements. Responsible for the collection, handling and disposal of solid waste generated in Lee County. The Solid Waste Department operates a centralized Transfer Station near Jonesville. No waste is disposed of on site as all Lee County waste is now transported to the City of Bristol Solid Waste Management Facility. All waste brought into the Transfer Station, other than bagged household garbage and metal, will be billed to the customer or contractor. The Transfer Station DOES NOT accept dead animals or hazardous material. Convenience Centers are provided at the following locations: Ben Hur, Blackwater, Dryden, Ewing, Flatwoods, Gibson Station, Jasper, Keokee, Olinger, Rose Hill, St. Charles, Stickleyville, Sugar Run, Woodway.
