TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families): Direct payment assistance program for families with children in which the child is deprived of maintenance, care, and guidance due to the absence of a parent or parents or the in-home parent's inability maintenance, care, and guidance.

Each of the county health departments provide immunizations for infants, children and adolescents to prevent illnesses such as diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib), measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox). Most of these vaccines are FREE and no appointment is needed for immunization clinic. Offer adult immunizations for Influenza, Pneumonia, and Tetanus. Our local health departments also administer some vaccines needed for foreign travel for a fee. Appointments are needed to receive foreign travel vaccines.

Reunification of the family by correcting problems that ultimately led to the Foster Care placement. This involves working with the natural family, the child, the foster family, the court, and various community resources. The Child Welfare Unit is responsible for the recruitment, approval, and re-evaluation of foster care homes. A volunteer Foster Care program is offered to families in need of respite care for their children.

Offer a Financial Support Program which provides financial assistance to people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and their families who reside in the state of Virginia.
