Home Health makes recommendations for needed equipment and support services and works closely with your provider to coordinate all aspects of your care, focusing on recovering and re-establishing independence. Home Health services include skilled nursing, home health aides, and physical, occupational and speech therapies. Home Health can also provide social worker consults to address social needs.

The Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit provides comprehensive and preventive health care services for children under age 21 who are enrolled in Medicaid’s Managed Care or FAMIS Plus program. EPSDT is key to ensuring that children and adolescents receive appropriate screenings, preventive, dental, mental health, developmental, and any medically necessary services, and that services are provided early before health problems become complex or impact growth and development. The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components: Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. New River Community Action works with numerous citizen groups to develop and implement agency programs. Volunteers who serve on the agency Board of Directors as well as various program Advisory Councils work in partnership with the staff.
