Offers children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun and challenging activities in a supportive and cooperative atmosphere. Accommodates campers with a variety of special needs at our accessible facility. Offers camper care ratios from 1:1 to 1:4 and have healthcare staff on site. Collaborates with organizations to offer weekend respites in the spring and the fall.

Offers the camper various activities that include wilderness camping, sailing, zip lines, ropes courses, canoe trips, and a senior high conference/camping program. Campers live in small groups of 10-18 with four trained counselors.

Camp - Palmyra, Camp Friendship

Provides a private, summer residential camp for boys and girls ages 6 through 16 serving to stimulate creative minds, build healthy bodies, and challenge adventurous souls, recognizing and providing for each individual camper. Parks and Recreation - Lexington, Rockbridge County Parks and Recreation

Blue Ridge Recreation Area -Is owned and operated by Rockbridge County. It houses a 25-meter outdoor pool featuring a 12' diving well, as well as a separate wading/kiddies' pool for toddlers (enclosed by a fence). The pool site also includes bathhouses with dressing areas and hot showers, a playground with swings and picnic tables. Lake A. Willis Robertson - Is owned and operated by Rockbridge County. The Lake Robertson Recreation Area is a popular family destination featuring 56 tent and hook-up sites, picnic shelters, tennis courts, Lake Robertson Pool, volleyball court, 10 miles of hiking trails, boat and canoe rentals, horseshoes and a 26 acre fishing lake. A 4-H Junior Camp - a summer camp program for youth ages 9-12 and 13-18 for counselors. In addition to programming, the 4-H Center is available for rental to groups for business or private gatherings and functions like annual meetings, trainings, and family reunions.

Camp - Linville, Still Meadows Enrichment Center and Camp

Offers a special needs camp to provide therapeutic activities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Day camps and Therapeutic Horseback Riding are offered to adults and children. Some of the activities campers participate in are: horseback riding, arts & crafts, games, animal care, hayrides, nature walks, gardening, cooking and picnics. A wheelchair accessible tree house is also available. Each Summer Day Camp session is a week long and runs from 9:00AM-3:00PM each day, except on Fridays the camp ends at 2:00PM. There are three camp weeks each summer.

Promotes the creation of social, recreational, and vocational programs designed to meet needs of individuals with autism. Currently, activities offered include monthly socials, a day camp over spring break, and Camp Gonnawannagoagain, a summer day camp experience for children and teens with autism.

Camp - Charlottesville, Journeys, Hospice of the Piedmont

Gives grieving children and teens (ages 4-18) the opportunity to be with others their age who are also experiencing significant loss, guided by skilled staff. Offers bereavement day camps each year. Through these camps and the on-going support groups, children discover that they are not alone and their feelings are normal. Seasonal camp activities may include art therapy, horseback riding, rope challenge courses, swimming, a petting zoo, hiking, games, a closing memorial ceremony, and more. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in a support group and memorial ceremony at each seasonal camp.

Facility - Williamsburg, Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, Virginia Cooperative Extension - Virginia Tech

Provides overnight facilities for conferences, retreats, and camping. Environmental education programs for school groups, special programs for youth at risk, and 4-H youth camping is offered during the months of June-August. A rental facility for private picnics is also available on weekends.
