A cash payment program to provide for the maintenance needs of the Citys children under age 18 who would be eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) except for the relationship requirement.

The Virginia Real Estate Transaction Recovery Act provides relief to eligible consumers who have incurred losses through the improper or dishonest conduct of a licensed real estate salesperson, broker, or firm. The Recovery Fund is supported entirely by assessments paid by licensees, not by any tax revenues. Filing a claim does not guarantee payment. State law limits a single Recovery Fund claim to $20,000. Multiple claims involving the same real estate licensee are limited to $100,000 per biennial license period. If multiple claims involving one licensee exceed $100,000, the claim amounts must be prorated. If there is reason to believe there will be multiple claims involving one licensee, payment of claims will be delayed for a period not to exceed one year. The Recovery Fund does not pay interest, punitive damages, exemplary damages, or any amounts that do not constitute actual monetary loss to the claimant. However, the award (claim) may include attorneys' fees and court costs. Claimants should be aware that obtaining assistance from the Recovery Fund is not a swift process in most cases, and occurs only after all other civil legal remedies are exhausted.

Assists with financial emergencies. Includes electricity termination notices; rent/mortgage; heating fuel; medical/dental/prescription;motel for homeless (temporary);gas to go to work; other miscellaneous expenses

Provide financial resources to cover rent or utility costs. Case Managers conduct a needs assessments to understand long-term needs and link clients to resources in the region. With this opens the availability for long term whole family care with case managers available. Financial Assistance can only be offered once per fiscal year.

The Hawthorne provides financial resources to support cancer patients and their families. This assist is provided for patients currently undergoing or recently undergoing cancer treatment throughout the Richmond Metropolitan area. Grant funds may be used for a wide range of needs including food, shelter, transportation, and other living expenses. The only restriction is that the funds not be used for medical bills.

Emergency Humanitarian Grant Program offers a ONE TIME financial grant to a cancer patient in current treatment. Hardship must be documented.

Offer a Financial Support Program which provides financial assistance to people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and their families who reside in the state of Virginia. Approved applicants will be eligible for up to $400 once per calendar year (January-December). Funds may be used for programs, services, and activities designed to improve quality of life.

Our Military Kids offers extracurricular activity grants that build the child's self-confidence, enhance family wellness, and strengthen a shared sense of community.

Provides financial assistance for emergency needs for utilities, food, traveler's assistance, once every twelve months.

Provides emergency assistance to those in Madison County in temporary need due to inability to pay rent, electric, gas, water or telephone bills, automobile repairs, medicine or medical bills.

The provision of short-term, limited financial assistance to families with children when a fire or other natural disaster occurs. There must be at least one child under age 18 in the home.

Provide financial assistance and college scholarships to Soldiers, Retirees, and their Families.

May have limited funding for some burial assistance. An optional local program designed to provide assistance which cannot be provided through other means. Financed through state and local funding. Developed by the local department of social services to meet the identified needs of each jurisdiction.

Designed to assist individuals on the waiting list for the intellectual disability (ID) or developmental disability (DD) Medicaid waivers to access short-term resources, supports, and services that will help them remain in their own community homes. The IFSP Funding Program provides financial assistance to individuals and families awaiting services through one of Virginia's Developmental Disabilities waivers. Individuals on the waitlist may apply for financial assistance to cover eligible costs that support continued living in an independent setting.

The Fund reimburses innocent victims of violent crime for out-of-pocket crime related expenses such as: medical, dental, mental health, moving, wage loss, funeral, etc. Victims must be a victim of a violent crime in Virginia, have reported the crime within 120 hours, and cooperate with law enforcement.

ECHO provides limited financial assistance to clients for rent, utilities, late fees, prescription drugs, car repairs, and English classes.

Food pantry in the city of Chesapeake. Financial assistance is given by appointment only to Chesapeake residents.

Provides financial assistance with payments of rent, mortgages, utility bills, medical expenses and other financial needs. Determines eligibility for services on an individual case by case basis. Calls are retrieved from a central message center. ***do not accept calls from Outside of our area***

The financial assistance program supports independence, safety, health and quality of life initiatives for people living with MS and their families. Financial assistance is generally offered once a year, but other circumstances may be considered for additional assistance. Funds support: Durable Medical Equipment, Health & Wellness, i.e. counseling services, evaluations, Home Care & Respite Services, Modifications, Transportation.

Offers financial help for those in crisis situations. Applicants are screened by Social Services and the Community Action Agency and interviewed by AICC volunteers. Approved funds are paid to the vendors from the AICC, distributed by a provider, to help pay for services such as housing, medical care, and utilities, in Accomack County VA only.

Love Heals hosts benefit concerts where we partner with a local Storyteller to share up to 15 minutes of their story to encourage and inspire their local community. 100% of every dollar raised goes to the Storyteller and we keep a donation window open for up to 1 month. We cover costs that are associated with their hardship. Hardship could be a medical crisis, loss of a loved one, kinship/ foster care, homelessness, etc. Examples of costs Love Heals will cover include reimbursements of lost wages, medical debt, mortgage payments, rent, home repairs, car payments, etc. So long as documentation is provided to validate costs that are associated with our Storytellers hardship, Love Heals will partner with the individual to help payout those costs directly to vendors.
