System of supports and services designed to promote the greatest possible developmental outcomes for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. The system is established in accordance with IDEA, Part C-Early Intervention.

Areas Served: Harrisonburg City, Rockingham County. Provides services for eligible children and their families, with developmental delays and disabilities. Services include, but are not limited to, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, developmental services, audiology, and vision.

Areas Served: Counties of Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry, Sussex, Cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell, Petersburg. Provides therapy/specialized services for families with at-risk and developmentally disabled infants and toddlers, ages newborn to 3; matches parents of children with similar needs. Provides developmental evaluations; pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy; educational and behavioral instruction; service coordination to families. There is no fee charged for evaluations or service coordination. Fees are charged for Educational/behavioral intervention, occupational, physical, and speech therapies.

This program provides evaluation and intervention services for families, infants, and toddlers birth through age three who have been diagnosed or are suspected of having a developmental delay. Area Served: Chesterfield County. Provides evaluations at no charge to families. Provides therapy services and service coordination. This program serves children from birth to 3rd birthday with a diagnosed medical condition resulting in delays in development or atypical development and/or a delay in development.

To reduce the impact of developmental delays and disabilities on infants 0-3 in Central Virginia, to ensure that infants receive developmental evaluations at no cost to families, to provide access to early intervention services as appropriate. Formerly known as Regional Childhood Development, Children birth to 3 years old in Lee, Scott, Wise counties and the City of Norton found to have developmental delays and/or disabilities are eligible for early intervention services including case management, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and special instruction. Early Intervention is an Infant & Toddler Connection of DILENOWISCO program.

Case management functions as the door through which consumers must pass to access needed services. Provides assessment, linking and referral, and monitoring to people with intellectual disabilities within the three county areas. Serves both children and adults.

Early Intervention provides services to infants and toddlers who have disabilities or developmental delays. Early intervention promotes the development of the child while building the strengths of the family. The Care Connection for Children (formerly known as Children's Specialty Services) program is divided into 6 Centers of Excellence throughout the state. The Charlottesville area center is known as the Blue Ridge Care Connection for Children (BRCCC). It is a collaboration between the Virginia Department of Health and the University of Virginia Children's Medical Center. The BRCCC is directly affiliated with the UVA Children's Medical Center. Outpatient counseling services are brief in nature, often using "solution focused" or other brief models of behavior modification. The Infant and Toddler Connection of the Alleghany Highlands coordinates early intervention services for infants and toddlers, birth through age 3 with developmental delays, diagnosed conditions or atypical development. Services may include developmental screenings - eligibility determination - assessment - service coordination and other services to meet the child and family's needs.

Areas Served: Counties of Botetourt, Craig, Roanoke, Cities of Roanoke, Salem, Vinton. Purpose: Coordinates early intervention services for children birth to 3 years old who are developmentally delayed and /or who have disabilities. Promotes and helps build a comprehensive family-centered early intervention system.

A family focused program that provides early intervention services for infants and toddlers from birth through two years of age with developmental delays, atypical development, or diagnosed condition. Provides activities for parents to use with their children to encourage developmental growth. Services include: developmental screenings; multidisciplinary assessment; home visits; center-based activities; service coordination, speech and motor therapy. Services are person-centered and community based. Offers services to older children including children's summer camp, respite services, developmental training, day supports, and case management.
