Provides programs to enable children with special needs, birth to age 21, to function at home, school, and in the community. The philosophy of care is to ensure that children with disabilities realize their maximum physical, emotional, social and educational potential in each of these environments. Services include, but are not limited to, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, developmental services, audiology, and vision.

Areas Served: Norton City, Scott, Wise, Dickenson, and Lee Counties. This program provides early intervention services for families, infants, and toddlers birth to age three who have diagnosed or suspected delays in development or diagnosed handicapping conditions.

Areas Served: Cities of Manassas, Quantico, Manassas Park, Prince William County. Provides multidisciplinary evaluations for children who are suspected of having a development delay or who have a diagnosed handicapping condition; development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to meet outcomes desired by the family; physical, occupational and speech therapy; special instruction for infants and toddlers who are eligible under IDEA Part C. Area Served: Counties of Brunswick, Halifax, Mecklenburg, Cities of South Boston, South Hill. The Infant Development Program provides intervention services for families, infants, and toddlers birth to age three who have diagnosed or suspected delays in development.

Specialty clinics available upon referral for children needing evaluation and follow up in the following areas: orthopedics, hearing impairment, eye imbalance, neurology, cardiology, diabetes, urology, pediatric surgery, hemophilia, cystic fibrosis. A sliding scale fee is applied, based on income.

Areas Served: Buchanan, Russell, Tazewell. This program provides intervention services for families, infants, and toddlers birth through two years who have diagnosed or suspected delays in development, atypical development or an automatically qualifying diagnosis.

Early Intervention provides services to infants and toddlers who have disabilities or developmental delays. Early intervention promotes the development of the child while building the strengths of the family. Services are provided by qualified educators who are experienced in working with young children with special needs, helping families incorporate developmental practices into their daily routines, and assisting families in locating needed resources in their community.

Provides care to children diagnosed with cerebral palsy of all complexities.

Area Served: Accomack, Northampton Counties. Provides early intervention services for infants and toddlers (birth through age three) who have developmental delay and their families.

Region Ten provides a variety of mental health services to meet the needs of our community. Services are provided for all age groups and are provided on an individual, group, or family basis. Services are also available at numerous locations across our catchment area to those experiencing mental health challenges and who may also have issues with substance use. Mental Health Services are strength-based, recovery-oriented services designed to evaluate and treat the mental health challenges that individuals may experience during their lifetime.

EPIC supports infants and toddlers, ages birth up to 3, with disabilities and/or developmental delays who live in Hampton or Newport News. A family-centered program that provides information and support to families of infants and toddlers between the ages of 0-3 with developmental delays. Free developmental screenings are provided for any child living in Hampton and Newport News under the age of 3. Staff help develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), which includes the family's needs, preferences, and concerns regarding their child and their family. Each child/family is assigned to a Service Coordinator at the time of the referral/intake. The support coordinators then set up the tailored therapy sessions with the families to ensure the child reaches their full potential.

Case management functions as the door through which consumers must pass to access needed services. Provides assessment, linking and referral, and monitoring to people with intellectual disabilities within the three county areas. Serves both children and adults.

Serves children birth to age 21 with special health care needs. Provides care coordination including referrals to health care services, case management, and referrals community support and resources. Maintains a database of regional and local resources for children with special health care needs. Financial assistance may be available to assist with specialty medical care, if income and medical criteria are met. The Care Connection for Children (formerly known as Children's Specialty Services) program is divided into 6 Centers of Excellence throughout the state. The Charlottesville area center is known as the Blue Ridge Care Connection for Children (BRCCC). It is a collaboration between the Virginia Department of Health and the University of Virginia Children's Medical Center. The BRCCC is directly affiliated with the UVA Children's Medical Center. BRCC serves the Counties of Albemarle, Augusta, Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Frederick, Greene, Highland, Madison, Nelson, Orange, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Warren and Cities of Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Winchester. System of supports and services designed to promote the greatest possible developmental outcomes for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. The system is established in accordance with IDEA, Part C-Early Intervention.

Plans, develops, and implements services for Virginia Beach residents with intellectual disabilities and their families through the provision of consumer centered services designed to provide opportunities to individuals who have intellectual disabilities to become self-directing and contributing members of our community; support families living with family member with intellectual disabilities; provide early intervention when developmental delays are identified in young children; and, promote the value of persons with intellectual disabilities living and working in the community.

Provides early intervention services for families who have infant and toddlers (birth to age three) who have developmental delays, atypical development, or a diagnosed disabling condition in accordance with Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Areas Served: Danville, Pittsylvania County. Early intervention supports and services focus on increasing the child's participation in family and community activities that are important to the family. In addition, supports and services focus on helping parents and other caregivers know how to find ways to help the child learn during everyday activities. These supports and services are available for all eligible children and their families regardless of the family's ability to pay.

Provides early intervention and child care services for families, infants, and toddlers (birth through age two) who have been diagnosed as developmentally delayed or who are living in at risk families due to low income, prenatal substance abuse, teen pregnancy, or prematurity.

Areas Served: Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Falls Church City. Provides a single point of entry into early intervention programs, to include assessments, service coordination and therapeutic support services for infants and toddlers with developmental concerns, and their families. Part of the Virginia Infant & Toddler Connection. Point of referral for all parents or community members who have concerns about development for children from birth to 36 months.
