The mission of The Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) is to educate, counsel and assist older consumers on medical benefit programs, long-term care insurance, and addresses problems with Medicare, Medicaid and medical bill paying. The VICAP staff and volunteers assist beneficiaries in finding Medicare Part D plans that cover their prescriptions and Medicare supplemental insurance and Medicare savings plans.

Counseling is available to individuals and their families who need help understanding their Medicare benefits, Medicaid, medical bills, etc. Assistance in making decisions about Medicare Supplements or Long-Term Care Insurance is provided.

Volunteers provide free counseling to Virginia residents regarding health insurance options and assistance with medical insurance forms. Also provides accurate and objective information, counseling, and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries on a wide range of health insurance issues, including Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care, and prescription drugs.

The Prince William Area Agency on Aging (the Agency) offers health insurance counseling assistance to older adults, their families and caregivers through the Virginia Health Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP). VICAP educates, counsels and assists individuals in understanding Medicare, long term care insurance, and other health benefits plans and programs.
