The Every Woman's Life Program provides free screening for breast and cervical cancer for under-served women who are low-income and have no insurance or are under-insured.

Offers three important health exams: Pap test, breast exam and mammogram for women ages 40 to 64 who are not covered by insurance.

Every Woman's Life, Miles For Mammogram, and Wise Woman programs screen for breast and cervical cancer and Healthy Life Style Choices for women already enrolled in Every Woman's Life. The Every Woman's Life Program provides free screening for breast and cervical cancer for under-served women who are low-income and have no insurance or are under-insured.

Staffed by Nurse Practitioners, Public Health Nurses, and Health Educators, the mobile medical unit provides onsite health screenings and fairs to people in our local health department offices, schools, work sites, and other community locations. Health screenings available include: Blood Pressure; Body Composition Analysis/BMI/Height/Weight; Cardiovascular Risk Assessment (for cholesterol), Diabetes/Blood Sugar; Pulmonary Function Testing; Respiratory Fitness Testing; Employee Physicals; Osteoporosis/Bone Density; Hemoccult Testing; Assessment for Skin Cancer; Prostate Cancer/PSA; PAP Smear/Breast Exam; STD testing and treatment; and Adult Immunizations. Health education programs are also available and arranged to meet specific needs identified during the screening process.

Every Woman's Life. (EWL)breast screening for women over 50 years old and cervical cancer screening services for women over 40 years old. Priority given to low income, uninsured, and underinsured. Wise Women - A chronic disease prevention program for eligible women receiving services through the Every Woman's Life program.

Clinicians provide clinical breast examination, breast self-exam instruction, mammograms, pap smears, and limited diagnostic services to women who meet the following eligibility criteria: *Ages 50-64; *Resident of Virginia; *Limited income(to 200 percent poverty level); *No insurance or insufficient insurance; *No Medicaid or Medicare; Low income, uninsured, and under-insured women who are under the age of fifty may also qualify for free mammograms through a Carilion Clinic grant awarded by The Greater Roanoke Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Pap Smear Clinics: Available to women of all ages, includes a breast examination, education, physical exam, and appropriate referrals for mammography. A sliding scale fee is applied, based on income. Every Woman's Life: Offer screening services for breast and cervical cancer for eligible women 50 to 64 years of age. This is part of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. To be eligible women must: Have incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, be uninsured, or underinsured, be a legal resident with Virginia as her primary residence.

Offers comprehensive pregnancy care including high-risk obstetric care and in-office ultrasounds(including 3D and 4D ultrasounds). Provides gynecology services including second opinions for surgery, birth control options and family planning, and breast health care.

Offers health screening and diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer in Every Woman's Life(EWL) and Susan G Komen(eligiblity for the two programs varies and women are placed in the program for which they are eligible that provides the most services). Women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer through the EWL program are automatically placed in Virginia Medicaid. Wise Woman is a companion program to EWL that provides screening and treatment for dyslipidemia (elevated cholesterol, or triglycerrides), hypertension, and diabetes mellitus.

Provides clinics to assist women in planning their families. Confidential birth control services and counseling are available. Special emphasis is focused to teens (teen clinic). Multiple languages availble via phone interperter line.

Every Woman's Life provides low-cost or free mammograms, clinical breast exams and pap tests to women who qualify.

Pap Smear Clinics: Available to women of all ages, includes a breast examination, education, physical exam, and appropriate referrals for mammography. A sliding scale fee is applied, based on income. Offers services to women interested in maintaining their reproductive health while using birth control. Provides education related to abstinence, self breast exam, STD prevention, nutrition and birth control methods. Also offers testing and treatment of STD's, follow up of abnormal pap smears (including colposcopy if needed), and Emergency Contraception.

The Sentara Leigh Hospital Breast Center features an all-female staff and offers comprehensive services including: - Screening and Diagnostic Mammography including CAD, needle localizations for pre-surgical procedures, and stereotactic needle core biopsies. - Breast Ultrasound (located directly adjacent to the Breast Center) - Ultrasound Needle localizations - Fine Needle Aspirations - Breast MRI - Mobile mammography available for business and indigent populations

Provides breast and cervical cancer screening services (mammogram, clinical breast exam, Pap test, pelvic exam, and patient education) through a statewide network of regional medical providers (call the Every Woman's Life toll free line at 1-866-EWL-4YOU or 1-866-395-4968). If the client is diagnosed by a BCCEDP provider with breast or cervical cancer (or pre-cancer), the client will be referred to Medicaid for treatment. This program is only available to women who qualify by age, residence and income (see Eligibility Requirements).

Healthcare programs for veteran women that include gynecology services, primary care, breast exams and mammography, and menopause treatment. Mental health services such as post traumatic stress disorder treatment are also available to women.

Every Woman's Life provides access to FREE breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services for low income and uninsured women.
