Project Discovery is a community-based initiative that helps high school students stay in school and become the first in their families to attend college. The success of Project Discovery is the partnership between the community, public schools and colleges. STOP Incorporated implements Project Discovery in high schools in local high schools. Students in the 9th through 12th grades are eligible to participate. The initiative provides field trips to colleges and universities and financial aid application assistance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake and Norfolk STOP's Technology Busprovides elementary to high school students with a mobile technology and training system that creates opportunities for inclusion in the computer programming industry. This initiative provides students onboard, at local multi-city stops, with code-building processes, mentorship and engagement to prepare them for future economic advancement. The Technology Bus provides learning opportunities in computer programming, software design, gaming and robotics and computer repair and maintenance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton Youth Development Initiatives are designed to engage youth in middle and high school. These programs provide opportunities for them to gain knowledge in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics fields through fun and innovative workshops covering these topics. STOP provides comprehensive summer camp experiences that focus on science and technology as well as tutorial sessions for youth focusing on areas of individual need to ensure that educational fundamentals are obtained. STOP's Youth Development initiatives also encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. MAD4YU assist underachieving students (public, private and home school) 2nd-12th grades in preparation for successful completion of core subjects through one-on-one tutoring and homework assistance sessions. MAD4YU will ONLY offer tutoring and homework help VIRTUALLY this school year for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students.

Project Discovery is designed to stimulate first-generation college-bound students through information and encouragement. Activities include cultural workshops, guidance in class selection, SOL and SAT preparatory classes, workshops in both financial aid and college life, and college campus tours. Project Discovery s curriculum offers students a place to define and build their character and their self-esteem through relationships established with one another and their Program Specialist.

Help support education in city schools by donating new or used materials, equipment of supplies your business or company no longer needs. Provides corporate grant program and student scholarships.

School health programs in public schools support the physical and emotional well being of students through school nursing services, health education covering a range of developmentally appropriate topics and other services that promote a healthy learning environment. Health Services may include services for students with disabilities and special health care needs and the traditional first aid, medication administration, and screening services.

Provides youth development programs including homework help and tutoring, alcohol and drug abuse prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, conflict resolution, juvenile delinquency prevention, athletics, cultural enrichment, citizenship and leadership development, outdoor and environmental education, and parent training. Boys and Girls Club offers Hispanic programming. Eligible ages are 5 to 18, there are no other restrictions. Immunization records and proof of physical exam required.

Provides remedial educational services to students ages 6 through eighteen, who have learning disabilities and/or attention deficits. Offers full day remedial school, summers school program, tutoring, psycho-educational assessment, and parent consultation and education.

A school supply drive to provide local children with the supplies they need to have a successful school year.

Offers a community based mentoring program that addresses the problems of unequal access to higher education by low income and/or potential first generation college or post secondary students. Skyline CAP offers this program in collaboration with Madison County High School. In the local program, Skyline's Project Discovery students meet for workshops once a week to explore their options for life after high school. Participants are encouraged to take the hardest classes in which they can do well, and be involved in school and community activities. They also have the opportunity to visit at least three colleges or trade schools each year. College bound students are also encouraged to apply for at least twenty scholarships.

Provide educational pathways leading to certification or college degree attainment and career opportunities for students, particularly those who may not otherwise have access. ACCESS fulfills its mission by: -Ensuring low- to moderate-income middle school students are well-informed about their options regarding post-secondary education. -Providing high school students with preparation, guidance, and the financial assistance needed to make post-secondary education a reality. -Supporting students while they pursue their certification or degree to help them stay in school and graduate or complete their program. -Assisting graduates in finding a career in Hampton Roads.

Youth Development Program is an after school tutorial and mentoring program that is designed for youth of all ages. Also offer, summer enrichment program designed for children in grades 3-7, the emphasis of the Summer Enrichment Program is on developing a strong academic program through mastery of SOL objectives on the students appropriate grade level.

Provides a setting where classroom staff provide help youth age 6 to 18 with daily homework assignments. Children and youth are encouraged by rewards and treats to enjoy the process of learning in the classroom setting. Also offers recreational activities.

Tidewater Tutors is a mobile tutoring company in Hampton Roads. Tutor all grades and in all subjects.

After-school and summer camp programming.

The purpose of Title I is to provide supplementary resources to students who attend schools in high economically challenged areas. Additional assistance in core content areas particularly reading and mathematics is provided to enable students to meet high academic standards.

Provides supplemental educational services to the children, aged 3-21 of migrant farm workers and highly mobile agricultural laborers.

Provides tutoring, educational support, SAT and college application preparation, college visits, and other related assistance to low-income middle and high school students who want to go to college.

This fund is to assist individuals who are legally blind who want to further their education through scholastics or in the trade industry, the Old Dominion Eye Foundation will award scholarships and/or equipment assistance grants to qualified applicants.

Provides services for incarcerated (or formerly incarcerated) parents, their children, and the children's caregivers. Services include both individual and group tutorial sessions. Children participate in community service projects and monthly workshops. Parents and caregivers also attend workshops and seminars to assist with transitioning and meeting the needs of the children.

The Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) Program will offer educational support to adults who may want to re-enter high school equivalency programs as well as provide guidance about college admissions and careers. The program will connect participants with tutors, mentors and counselors who will coach them through the college admissions process, teach them about financial aid and offer guidance on course selection.

The Building Better Futures (BBF) Program goal is to remove obstacles students face during their high school journey and to guide them on a path to post-secondary opportunities and success. Services offered: 2-days of in-person tutoring Virtual enrichment sessions focused on college & workforce readiness. Special guest speakers Career Exploration Externship (CEE) Field Trips/ College Visits

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Education Program offers grants and interest-free loans for undergraduate or master's degree at an accredited 2- or 4-year post-secondary, technical or vocational institution in the United States.

The Write Stuff School Supply program provides a backpack filled with age appropriate school supplies to children grades K-12 to ensure they have what they need to start the school year.
