The Powhatan County Public School System has an adult education program that is available to any adult who is 18 and over and who is a resident of Powhatan County. There is also a Senior School designed to meet the needs and interests of the senior adults residing in Powhatan County.

Offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED preparatory classes and serves those individuals 18 years old who have not earned their high school diplomas. GED/Adult Education program consists of the High School GED Program, the Adult Education Program, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and GED testing.

Provides adult training in basic adult education including reading, writing, arithmetic, arts and crafts, business, computer technology, creative writing, English as a Second Language (ESL), languages, horticulture, and vocational trades (daytime and evening). A second adult education offering is The High School Credit Program which provides an opportunity for adults to complete their high school diploma when they are missing just a few classes. A standard adult high school diploma is awarded upon successful completion of all graduation requirements for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Adult Continuing Education offers GED classes and tests, English for Speakers of Other Languages classes, workforce training and enrichment classes.

The adult education program provides educational opportunities for adults who wish to acquire competencies necessary for further education, employment, or personal enrichment.
