Garden of Hope Adult Basic Education (ABE)program provides free instruction in all subjects covered on the General Education Development (GED)exam. This includes morning and evening classes, free books and materials, pretesting, practice GED tests, post-GED test guidance and a convenient testing center. This program is open to the public.

An adult education center that provides classes and tutoring to adult learners seeking to improve basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Additional classes: computer, GED prep, English for speakers of other languages, and weekly job seeker workshops. All services are fee free and confidential.

Provides educational opportunities as a two year institution of higher education. Offers Associate Degree and one year Certificate programs and job training programs. Offers Pre-GED, GED, PlugGEDin Health Science, adult high school, adult basic education, distance education, work readiness, and career education programs.

Provides public education services which include special education, vocational training and gifted programs. Offers continuing education opportunities to local citizens. School facilities are available for rental by area civic groups.

Offers an educational and career development training program free of charge to young adults between the ages of 18-24 who did not complete high school and have a desire to improve the qualify of their lives. Program participants are given the opportunity to: obtain a GED, enroll at Thomas Nelson Community College and earn up to 5 college credits, earn a Virginia's Career Readiness Certificate (bronze, sliver or gold) credential, obtain short-term occupational training (Welding, HVAC, Medical Coding, Automotive, Carpentry, and many more), enhance basic workplace readiness skills.

Provide instruction in fundamental learning skills for adults who have interrupted formal schooling and need to raise their level of education to increase their self-confidence and/or prepare for an occupation.

Adults are provided an opportunity to improve English, basic skills in reading, math, writing, social studies and science and to prepare for the GED test, Virginia Placement Test, and contextualized curriculum for specific industry training with College and Career Readiness standards. Established to assist those whose clients have a need for adult education/literacy services. Coordinates & promotes community participation and acts as a referral network between educational providers and public service providers.

Provides comprehensive adult educational services for students over the age of 18. The Adult and Continuing Education program offers a variety of classes, including classes for those seeking a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), and the External Diploma Program (for adults 21 and older). We offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes at various levels. In addition, we offer general interest courses that include a variety of computer classes, beginning foreign language, sign language, safe boating, health occupations exam preparation classes, and more!
