Literacy for Life provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring and classes for adults in reading, writing, math , ESL, VPT Preparation, work skills and health literacy. The program also supports learners pursuing high school completion through the General Educational Development (GED) Test and National External Diploma Program (NEDP). Literacy for Life's offsite program provides classes taught by professional instructors at area businesses, nonprofit agencies, and public schools.

Provides public education services which include special education, vocational training and gifted programs. Offers continuing education opportunities to local citizens. School facilities are available for rental by area civic groups.

The only Virginia Board-approved High School Equivalency examination in Virginia is the GED test, developed jointly by the American Council on Education and Pearson Vue, to enable persons who have not graduated from high school to demonstrate the attainment of abilities normally associated with completion of a high school program of study. The 2014 GED® test series measures not only high school equivalency, but also career and college readiness. The four tests include Reasoning through Language Arts (Writing and Reading), Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies

Adults are provided an opportunity to improve English, basic skills in reading, math, writing, social studies and science and to prepare for the GED test, Virginia Placement Test, and contextualized curriculum for specific industry training with College and Career Readiness standards. Adult Education Programs provide Latino families with tools to thrive and flourish. Programs offered are: ESL, also GED, Literacy and Citizenship classes in Spanish.

Provides an Adult education at VVTC that encourages numerous kinds of training. Included under the adult training umbrella are; day and evening training in agriculture, business, health occupations and trade and industrial areas. The Center is the regional related instruction center for the Virginia Apprenticeship Training program. The Center has numerous training relationships with area businesses and industries. In keeping with the overall mission of Valley Vocational-Technical Center, the adult program strives to offer up-to-date training in keeping with community demands. The success of the program is evident by the average annual adult enrollment the center experiences. Many employees in local businesses, industries, and agencies received their job training at Valley Vocational-Technical Center. Local businesses and industries continue to be highly involved in the on-going development of the adult program. The ever-increasing level of technology demanded by today's work-place spells a bright future for adult training at VVTC. Adult Basic Education (ABE) - This class develops ABE skills to the 10th grade level in the areas of math, writing science, social studies, and reading. Special emphasis is placed on individual instruction to meet the specific needs of the learner.

The Capital Region Adult Education Program provides classes focused on adult literacy, GED preparation, and English for multi-language learners, as well as many career-readiness services.

SNAP EleVate Program - Assists SNAP clients to secure GED, High School Diploma, and college courses.

Also provides a Family Literacy program to help parents in the role as their child's first teacher. Serves the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah, Warren and the City of Winchester.

Provides comprehensive adult educational services for students over the age of 18. Programs are designed to teach the needs of the high school drop out, the displaced worker, and the non-English speaking adult. Classes are offered in Adult Basic Education/Pre-GED, General Education Development, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Community Education.

Offers programs for adult residents of Hampton who wish to obtain their high school credential or build job skills.

Provides and coordinates volunteer literacy services for educationally disadvantaged adults in the Central Shenandoah Valley. Provides tutors for ABE, ESL, and GED adult students and those who wish to improve basic reading and writing skills or prepare for U.S. Citizenship. Tutors are free.

A comprehensive, full-time, non-residential, community-based program that offers youth an immediately productive role rebuilding their communities. Students spend half their time attending basic education classes and half their time receiving job and life skills training in high-demand fields while building career and leadership skills.

Literacy Volunteers - Prince William (LVA-PW) provides adult learners in Prince William County dignity, equity, and inspiration through the gift of literacy and health literacy. Mission success is achieved through holistic literacy, an innovative educational approach developed by and unique to LVA-PW. The approach encapsulates a broader understanding of literacy that encompasses both general English-based literacy skills with complex health-related information.

Adult and Community Education offers a wide variety of courses, certificate programs, and career training to adults and children.

Southside Programs for Adult Continuing Education provides adult education classes to adults 18 years of age and older.
