Hargrave Military Academy, located in Chatham, Virginia, is a military boarding school that serves boys in grades 7-12 (with an optional Post-Graduate year). Hormel School is a year-round, day-school program licensed to serve students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder between the ages of 2 and 22. Provides students with a comprehensive education and clinical program designed to address the core symptoms of autism and related learning issues. A multidisciplinary faculty develops individualized education programs for each student. Students receive daily one-on-one instruction from instructors, as well as supervision from an Behavior Analyst. Students' parents and caregivers receive additional support and training to implement practices in the home. In addition, families are supported by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps families and caregivers access additional support and community resources. The Outpatient Behavioral Services program provides evidence-based behavioral therapies designed to address the continuum of needs exhibited by children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Services are designed to address the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder along with many of the associated challenges. Depending upon a client's needs, behavior therapy is provided in their homes, communities, and/or VIA's specialized clinic. In addition to individual therapy, the Outpatient Behavioral Services program provides social skills training groups, summer camps, parent and caregiver coaching, and a number of workshops/continuing education events for health care practitioners, educators and child care providers. The Academy is designed to provide adults with autism spectrum disorder a variety of continuing education opportunities and behavioral supports. The Academy provides a continuum of life-long supports designed to meet the variety of needs adults across the autism spectrum may experience. The Academy is comprised of three colleges: College of Life Skills, College of Business and Entrepreneurship, and the College of Health and Well-being. Adult students in the Academy take a variety of courses designed to teach independent living skills, gaining and maintain meaningful employment, and how to live healthy lifestyles. In addition, the College of Health and Well-being offers behavior consultation services. Behavior consultation services consist of intensive, evidence-based assessment and treatment services to address behavior challenges and provide on-going therapeutic support. Highly-trained licensed staff members use person-centered planning techniques with each client to emphasize individual preferences and strengths. Behavior consultation services are designed to assist adults with autism with accessing and maintaining skills taught at the Academy.

VSDB is both a school and a state agency that provides educational services to students ages 2-22 within the Commonwealth of Virginia, who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Blind/Visually Impaired, DeafBlind, and deaf or blind with additional disabilities. A student may enroll as either a day or residential student. Residential students attend VSDB during the week for school and return home to their families every weekend. Students attending VSDB are served through special education services and have an Individual Education Program (IEP). VSDB is no cost to public school districts or to families. VSDB offers all diploma options and follows all state educational regulations for special education services, including state assessment options for the Standards of Learning as prescribed by each student's IEP. VSDB is a fully accessible educational environment that utilizes specially designed instruction and where learning extends beyond the classroom into the Residential Program. Students who attend VSDB have the opportunity to be leaders, participate in sports, learn in a fully accessible educational setting, develop social skills through peer interactions, and develop independent living and workforce skills that support a successful transition after graduation. In consideration for admission, students may attend VSDB for the TEMP program as an opportunity to experience VSDB's services and programs.

East End Academy is a Therapeutic day school that offers academics and 1:1 counseling for students having difficulties learning in larger settings. East End Academy also offers an Afterschool Program that provides therapeutic group counseling sessions and homework assistance

Inter-denominational Christian school offering an education to children 5 years old through 12th grade. The student must meet spiritual, academic and physical requirements; however, the Academy does not discriminate against race, color, sex national and/or ethnic origin. A pre-K program is also offered during school hours, 1-5 days a week, for children who have their 4th birthday by September 31st.

Staff-to-student ratio ranges from 1:6 to 1:8 depending on disabilities being served in the classroom. Local school systems place students with Dooley School to help address academic and behavioral challenges. Counselors on staff help students develop self-esteem, learn how to build relationships and be successful in their community.
