Operates the following programs: Youth Haven Assessment and Brief Intervention Center, Outreach Detention and Electronic Monitoring, Runaway and Homeless Youth Program and Parent Education. Youth Haven Assessment and Brief Intervention Center Male and female clients ages 12 through 17 can receive individualized nonresidential services based on a screening for strengths and areas for improvement. Brief interventions include, but are not limited to: screenings, individual and family counseling, surveillance, anger management, and life skills services. A weekly support and educational group is available to the parents of adolescents. A Teen Parent Education group is offered in partnership with Children's Trust to provide basic parenting skills and support to adolescent parents and pregnant teenagers. Outreach Detention/Electronic Monitoring Male and female clients who have been court ordered pre-dispositionally will receive intensive supervision including, but not limited to: daily supervision, counseling, crisis intervention, electronic monitoring supervision and family involvement. Provides outreach to teens in the Bailey's Crossroads and Culmore areas (Falls Church) and in Springfield and Franconia in Fairfax County. Seeks to prevent alcohol, drug and sexual abuse and makes treatment referrals. Also works to reduce gang violence.

This division is designed to deter juvenile crime and provide an alternative to detention. Services to individuals primarily referred by the staff of the 25th District Juvenile Court Services Unit, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Schools, Police and Sheriff departments, and the Department of Social Services. Programs offered include: Anger Management - Shoplifting Alternative Program - First Offender Program - Life Skills - 3rd Millenium Classrooms school discipline alternatives Detention Alternative and Outreach Services: Outreach Detention - Electronic Monitoring - Curfew Checks - Surveillance Checks - After-Hours On-Call Coverage. Youth Development promotes the healthy social emotional development of children and youth through evidence- based prevention services and initiatives, subsequently preventing costly risk outcomes such as alcohol and other substance use, pregnancy, school drop-out, and violence.

Provide a balanced approach of comprehensive services that prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency.

Offers juvenile services ranging from effective community interventions to quality secure detention services.

A wide variety of community and school based prevention programs and services are provided, including mentoring, health and nutrition, substance use prevention, work readiness, skill building workshops; youth group consisting of local high school students; conducts community-wide needs assessment; works in conjunction with other youth-serving agencies to provide programs and services.

Provides a program for troubled at-risk youth. This program is available by agency referral only. Agencies by refer at-risk youth for services which include Special Education, Foster Care and Foster Care Prevention.

Responsible for the care and custody of juveniles placed in the center by the court system.

Provide a balanced approach of comprehensive services that prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency.

Serves youth involved in risky behiors and their families. An initial risk assessment is completed to determine the youth's risk factors. Some of the services implemented are evidence based and designed to reduce the youth's risk level. Services include Decision Points; Substance Abuse Groups; Healthy Youth Initaitive, Pre-Truancy Program and Middle School Suspension Program. The goal is to encourage youth to become responsible, respectful, and productive members of the community.
