Operates the following programs: Youth Haven Assessment and Brief Intervention Center, Outreach Detention and Electronic Monitoring, Runaway and Homeless Youth Program and Parent Education. Youth Haven Assessment and Brief Intervention Center Male and female clients ages 12 through 17 can receive individualized nonresidential services based on a screening for strengths and areas for improvement. Brief interventions include, but are not limited to: screenings, individual and family counseling, surveillance, anger management, and life skills services. A weekly support and educational group is available to the parents of adolescents. A Teen Parent Education group is offered in partnership with Children's Trust to provide basic parenting skills and support to adolescent parents and pregnant teenagers. Outreach Detention/Electronic Monitoring Male and female clients who have been court ordered pre-dispositionally will receive intensive supervision including, but not limited to: daily supervision, counseling, crisis intervention, electronic monitoring supervision and family involvement. The Judge Patrick D. Molinari Juvenile Shelter is a non-secure 15 beds facility that serves both male and female juveniles between the ages of 10-17. The program is designed as an alternative to secure detention or a temporary emergency placement for some youth who may need immediate shelter. The program provides short term residential care which focuses on stabilizing the juvenile's behavior and provides specifically approved services to address individual needs with the goal of reunification with the family. All services are provided through a referral from the local Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, the local Court Services Unit, or The Department of Social Services.

Responsible for the care and custody of juveniles placed in the center by the court system.

This division is designed to deter juvenile crime and provide an alternative to detention. Services to individuals primarily referred by the staff of the 25th District Juvenile Court Services Unit, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Schools, Police and Sheriff departments, and the Department of Social Services. Community based programs and services focused on preventing and reducing delinquency in at-risk and under-served youth. Youth are referred by the 9th District Juvenile and Domestic Court and the Colonial Group Home administers the programs.

Provides outreach to teens in the Bailey's Crossroads and Culmore areas (Falls Church) and in Springfield and Franconia in Fairfax County. Seeks to prevent alcohol, drug and sexual abuse and makes treatment referrals. Also works to reduce gang violence.

The Division of Juvenile Community Programs are designed to enhance public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency through various valuable prevention services, and evidence based intervention programming that strengthens families and changes the lives of at-risk youth.

Provides a program for troubled at-risk youth. This program is available by agency referral only. Agencies by refer at-risk youth for services which include Special Education, Foster Care and Foster Care Prevention.

Provide a balanced approach of comprehensive services that prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency.

Serves youth involved in risky behiors and their families. An initial risk assessment is completed to determine the youth's risk factors. Some of the services implemented are evidence based and designed to reduce the youth's risk level. Services include Decision Points; Substance Abuse Groups; Healthy Youth Initaitive, Pre-Truancy Program and Middle School Suspension Program. The goal is to encourage youth to become responsible, respectful, and productive members of the community.

Provides programs to prevent juvenile delinquency and promote positive youth development, and administer the Comprehensive Services Act, Crime Control Act programs and a Partners in Prevention grant.

A wide variety of community and school based prevention programs and services are provided, including mentoring, health and nutrition, substance use prevention, work readiness, skill building workshops; youth group consisting of local high school students; conducts community-wide needs assessment; works in conjunction with other youth-serving agencies to provide programs and services.

Youth Services provides resource information for county youths and families and leads collaborative initiatives that engage the community in promoting the safety, well-being and success of Chesterfield County youths.

Youth Development promotes the healthy social emotional development of children and youth through evidence- based prevention services and initiatives, subsequently preventing costly risk outcomes such as alcohol and other substance use, pregnancy, school drop-out, and violence.

The Police Department provides an officer to the school system to assist with at risk youth. This almost always involves truancy. The patrolman makes home visits to identified truants.
