Furniture Program - Alexandria, ALIVE!

The ALIVE! Furniture Program collects and delivers donated items once a week to Alexandria residents. ALIVE! member congregations and volunteers pick up and deliver donations of basic furniture to people's homes. Acceptable items include dressers, beds and mattress in good condition, dining room/kitchen tables and chairs. Referrals required.

Pregnancy Center - Luray, Life Center of Page Valley, The

Pro-life resource for pregnant women. Free pregnancy testing, health and nutrition counseling. Promote abstinence and alternatives to abortion. Offers help to women, families, and unborn children through the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy. Serve teens and adults, both married and single. Services include free and confidential pregnancy tests, parenting classes, Bible studies, mentoring, new mothers classes and referrals to other agencies. Provide baby clothing up to age 5, baby formula, baby food, maternity clothing, cribs, car seats for children up to age 4. Services are not limited to new mothers. Assist families in need.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore receives building materials, appliances, furniture, tools and more that have been donated by corporations, construction companies and individuals and then sells these items to the general public at 40% to 90% off retail prices. The CARITAS Furniture Bank works in close partnership with over 80 local non-profit, for profit and social service agencies to provide basic household furnishings to clients coming out of homelessness or other types of crisis. These agencies qualify to be a referral partner and refer individuals and families in need of basic household items.
