Virginia Beach Community Living Centers provides supportive services and independent living to adult men and women with intellectual disabilities. In this residential program individuals partner with Volunteers of America Chesapeake staff members to develop person centered plans and participate in life-skills training and human growth and development activities geared towards developing each individual's highest potential. Many of the individuals in our program are employed or participate in programs throughout the community to help strengthen their sense of community involvement and independence. Currently operating 2 homes.

Operates six group homes with two levels of assistance-Intensive and Supportive. Counselors help residents learn and master tasks such as maintaining good hygiene and nutrition, taking medications as prescribed, seeing doctors and dentist routinely, taking care of their home, planning their time, making decisions, and managing their finances.

Residential program serving individuals who have a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability. Services provided include person-centered planning to assist individuals to develop as much competence as possible while residing in community settings throughout the City of Virginia Beach.

Supervised Residential living service for ID/DD individuals in Chesterfield. ORAE'S Home is a supportive and person-centered environment where individuals can thrive, build independence, and engage in their community.

Provides community based services to people who have intellectual disability. Agency has 5 licensed group homes: Pickering Place, The Apartment, Corson House, Clifford and Liberty. Day support services are provided at the Good Day activity Center. Good Life also has a social club that meets monthly ACCESSIBILITY: Limited accessibility to persons with intellectual disabilities.

Offers an adult group home for adults with intellectual disabilities diagnosed at birth, providing room and board for 6 residents. Residents must be ambulatory and able to attend a day work program. Laundry services and transportation services also provided.

A fifteen bed program in Tazewell County for adult males and females with moderate to mild intellectual disabilities. Staff provide 24 hour supervision. Residents of Cumberland Mountain Home are generally more independent in their functioning than residents of Intermediate Care Facilities, and require assistance rather than training for all areas of independent living. Emphasis is placed on community integration. Residents and family take part in service planning. Payment for residential services is made by the resident and is usually a percentage of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security (SSDI) disability benefits.

Residential living services are provided for adults with mental illnesses at Kingsport Apartments. Residents are offered support for community living, psychosocial support services, and are taught daily living skills.

Offer continual support including overnight staff to respond to the health, medical and behavioral needs of individuals. Each program participant has a service plan developed to assist him or her to reach their goals. Person-centered services strive to offer the greatest opportunities for unrestricted participation and community inclusion. Skill-building and assistance may be provided in personal care, domestic skills, leisure time, daily life skills, behavior management community integration and social skills. Assistance is offered in administration of medications.
