Virginia Beach Community Living Centers provides supportive services and independent living to adult men and women with intellectual disabilities. In this residential program individuals partner with Volunteers of America Chesapeake staff members to develop person centered plans and participate in life-skills training and human growth and development activities geared towards developing each individual's highest potential. Many of the individuals in our program are employed or participate in programs throughout the community to help strengthen their sense of community involvement and independence. Currently operating 2 homes.

Residents of The Cottage are generally more independent in their functioning than residents of Intermediate Care Facilities, and require assistance rather than training for all areas of independent living. Most people who live at the Grayson House develop sufficient skills to move on to more independent living arrangements. Applicants to the program must be willing to work in a day job, job training, or educational placement.

Operates Waiver homes and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Each home is located in a residential community and is staffed 24 hours a day. Staff are responsible for supporting the individuals with activities of daily living, accessing community resources, encouraging self- direction, and developing and maintaining connections with family members, friends, and other natural supports.

Provide comprehensive support services in a Christian community setting with the goal of helping each person experience the most independent and complete life possible utilizing person-centered planning.

Provides residential placement and skills training to adults with developmental disabilities.

Offer continual support including overnight staff to respond to the health, medical and behavioral needs of individuals. Each program participant has a service plan developed to assist him or her to reach their goals. Person-centered services strive to offer the greatest opportunities for unrestricted participation and community inclusion. Skill-building and assistance may be provided in personal care, domestic skills, leisure time, daily life skills, behavior management community integration and social skills. Assistance is offered in administration of medications.

Residential Group Home that provides housing and assistance of IADLs for adults with intellectual developmental disabilities age 18+.

Offers an adult group home for adults with intellectual disabilities diagnosed at birth, providing room and board for 6 residents. Residents must be ambulatory and able to attend a day work program. Laundry services and transportation services also provided.

Provides a residential facility for people with developmental disabilities. Services provided in the facility include organizational elements which include residential cottages, communication, community and social services, cosmetology, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, primary nursing, psychology, recreation and leisure, vocational training and employment, and volunteer services.

The Residential Program provides residential settings that range in levels of supervision, for deaf adults with mental illness who are in need of learning independent living skills. Its goals are to reduce or prevent hospitalization, to outplace deaf persons from institutions and to assist these persons to live and function within the community.

Supervised Residential living service for ID/DD individuals in Chesterfield. ORAE'S Home is a supportive and person-centered environment where individuals can thrive, build independence, and engage in their community.

Community Support Program supports individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing who are experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders and other issues to ensure that their needs for living in the community are met. Services include counseling, coordination of medical and mental health treatment/appointments, budgeting and money management, housing placement to name a few. This program provides services to individuals approved by the D.C. Department of Behavioral Health and is available 5 days per week with on call services for emergencies and crisis situations.

This 11-unit apartment complex provides supportive housing to people with serious and persistent mental illness. Services include support for community living and learn daily living skills. Service in Lee County is funded by Planning District One Behavioral Health Services.
