Winter Shelter provides a safe refuge from illness, injury, and death during inclement weather. This Winter Shelter Collaborative is a partnership funded by the Office of Community Services of the City of Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services - with WS services held from 7pm to 7am November 1st through April 15th. For November and April the openings are dependent on the weather. Non City of Alexandria residents will have 1 night of winter shelter available prior to returning to their home jurisdiction.
Provides an emergency shelter with 15 beds that serves the homeless people in Culpeper County. Priority is given to women or families of women with children. Does not accept males. Please Note If you are in need of shelter or housing services please call Centralized Intake at the Foothills Housing Network Homeless Assistance number 540-724-6630. This is an automated number so please leave your name, number where you can be reached and brief description of services you need. Someone will call you back in 24-48 hours. Make sure you are available for a call back. Centralized Intake will take your information and then forward it to the correct service provider.

Provides an emergency shelter for homeless families and single adults. In addition to emergency housing, FFSS also provides payment assistance for working/job seeking parents in the emergency shelter, and expanded support services including Life Skills training, housing, children's program, parenting, job search and counseling services. The Haven Emergency Shelter is the only emergency shelter in Fauquier. This 52 bed facility can accommodate up to eleven families and eight single adults at any one time.
Offers family shelter of 42 beds housing 39 families during the year. Shelter is comprised of 7 apartment units where families reside. The average length of stay is 90 days. Offers a wide array of services including intensive case management.
Provides emergency short term housing to families and singles. Limits length of stay to 45 days for single women and for families, with 18 beds available. Makes referrals to a variety of community services. Residents must actively seek employment and participate in a self-sufficiency plan. Offers financial management counseling classes. All clients must partake in an intake process, which can only be made in person at ACTS' Beverly Warren Shelter located at 17866 Main Street Dumfries, VA 22026
Shelter for single men over the age of 18, rehabilitation program and single room occupancy hotel.
A low-barrier, 50 bed shelter offering advocacy, case management, employment assistance, meals, rental subsidies, and other supportive services to single adults experiencing homelessness.

Provides an overnight shelter for any individuals who would otherwise be outside in freezing temperatures, mid-November through Mid-March. This is not a shelter for families. The shelter is open on the nights when temperatures are low during the winter time period. This is a nighttime only shelter; residents are not permitted to stay during the day or to store possessions at the building. Transportation is provided from downtown locations each night 6:00-6:30 pm. In order to get on the bus to the Cold Weather Shelter, prospective residents should attend the evening's community meal at one of the downtown churches and wait for the bus at that location. Prospective residents may also provide their own transportation to the Cold Weather Shelter. Do not arrive the Cold Weather Shelter before 6:30 PM each night.

Temporary emergency shelter for homeless families. Must have at least one child under age 18; agree to drug screening and background check. Provides the following to guest families: *shelter 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; *three meals daily; *transportation to/from overnight shelter; *Day Center (including kitchen, living room, laundry, bathrooms, etc.); *professional case management and referral with a focus on employment/other appropriate income, savings and stable, affordable housing; *life skills, including budget development and management and job search; *security deposit assistance (for participating families who secure permanent housing.
Provides emergency shelter to homeless adults and families with children. Offers case management to identify employment, housing, and other concerns and develop concrete steps to achieve goals. Provides parenting, tutoring and children's programs through partnerships with other organizations and through volunteers. Features regular visits by mental health and substance abuse counselors, doctors and nurses.
A short-term facility for families in crisis, including counseling and case management, tutoring for school-age children, resources to assist families facing chronic dependencies or who lack hope.
The Espigh Family Shelter is a 35-bed facility that provides temporary housing for single adult women and families of any composition. Clients receive individualized case management services which connect them to community resources and builds skill sets that contribute to the long-term stability of a household.
The Shelter Program at the Homeless Services Center offers sleeping arrangements for over 50 people per night, provides three meals daily, showers, laundry facilities, and access to case managers and medical services, and five medical respite beds.
The Emergency Shelter program is focused on providing permanent solutions - housing, jobs, transportation and childcare needs, with an emphasis on employment and increased income - so that people can break the cycle of homelessness and become stable within the community. When families enter into the program a comprehensive assessment is conducted to identify what is needed to attain stability. In addition to shelter, a person may require education, job placement, transportation, mental health services, parenting support, and childcare.
Identifies churches which provide emergency shelter for one week blocks during the winter months. Assists homeless individuals and couples in finding emergency temporary shelter. Provides individualized case management services and life skills groups to obtain housing stability and increased skills and income. Must call to determine designated church shelter of the week. *****FACETS' hypothermia prevention season begins on December 1 and goes through March 31****
Provides safe emergency shelter throughout the New River Valley. Provides bus tickets/gas to get out of area shelters, case management, and information and referral to local programs. Temporary shelters include a two family house in Blacksburg called the Haven, a single-family house in Blacksburg called the Katharina von Bora Haus, a single-family mobile house in Christiansburg, and a single efficiency room in the Christiansburg/Shawsville area, and a single-family space in Christiansburg called the Father Scott House. The Shelter facilities available to date are established for short term housing (30-90 days).
Program that coordinates interfaith congregations located in any area of Newport News to open their parish or social halls and provide food and shelter for individuals or families who would normally spend their nights sleeping on the streets, in cars, or perhaps in empty buildings or in the woods.

Shelter for women and children who are homeless or abused.
Hypothermia Shelter Services will be provided in the Prince William Area from November 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. These services aim to prevent the loss of life or limb due to extreme cold weather conditions. The Hypothermia Shelter Services in Prince William Area will be provided by two organizations: StreetLight Ministries and Manassas Baptist Church. 1. A year-round shelter with 50 beds. The shelter can house a total of 14 families. Please note that the shelter is not a walk-in inclement weather shelter. Families are referred to the shelter through the Greater Richmond Continuum of Care coordinated point of entry. Families can call the Homeless Connection Line to begin the housing placement process at 804-972-0813.

Provides spiritual guidance, addiction recovery programming, case management, biblical studies, men's residential shelter housing for the homeless, vocational counseling, and daily community food distribution as well as soup kitchen food services to the impoverished families of our community. Persons arriving after 5PM must be brought in by hospital or police.
Provides food, clothing, hygiene supplies, living necessities, medical care, dental care and shelter for individuals that are homeless in need. All help subject to volunteer and donation levels, but will help as possible.
