VHBG's Therapeutic Resource Center provides counseling, consultation, and psychoeducation services to individual youth, families, and groups. All of these services are supervised by a licensed professional. These services effectively and directly meet the needs of youth and families served through VHBG and better mirror a youth's Individual and Family Service Plan (IFSP). VHBG provides a Youth Mental Health First Aid USA eight-hour public education program free to the community each month. This program introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions and provide initial help, and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. The course is designed for adults who regularly interact with youth (teachers, school staff, coaches, church and youth group leaders, parents, social workers, hospital staff, law enforcement, employers, etc.). The Youth Mental Health First Aid USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behavior disorders, and substance use disorders.

Full Circle also provides Individual Counseling services both in office and through interactive video conferencing at a reduced rate for those grieving the death of a loved one. Specialty areas include grief and loss, traumatic loss (such as homicide, suicide, traumatic accident), and anticipatory grief. Some insurance accepted as well as a reduced self-pay rate offered.

Protects elderly and impaired adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation; enables adults to remain in the least restrictive setting; and assesses Medicaid eligible adults for nursing home placement.

Issues warrants, admits to bail, commits to jail, issues emergency custody orders, emergency protective orders, temporary detention orders and answers as many legal questions as possible. We issue civil warrants and direct persons to the proper court. We distribute pamphlets placed by citizens against family violence. We direct abused individuals to the proper places of safety.

Provides mediation services to families in conflict including such issues as divorce, custody, visitation, support and property divisions. Mediators assist clients in reaching mutually acceptable agreements through their own decisions. Sessions scheduled according to client needs, including after-hours and weekends, and have various locations throughout Northern Virginia. Mediation is voluntary and confidential and may be used concurrently with other assistance (legal, mental health, etc.)

The Victim Advocacy Program (VAP) provides emergency and follow-up support services to adult victims of domestic abuse. Advocacy services are available to Service members, their current or former spouses, an individual with whom the Service member shares a child, and significant others of Service members who live together.

Provides a department of local government providing law enforcement and crime protection. Programs offered are the neighborhood watch, file of life, heads-up, project lifesaver, door to door solicitator and house check.
