The goal of Child Protective Services (CPS) is to identify, assess and provide services to children and families in an effort to protect children, preserve families, whenever possible, and prevent further maltreatment. Child Protective Services is non-punitive in its approach and is directed toward enabling families to provide adequate care for their children.

Investigates reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults sixty years of age or older and incapacitated adults age eighteen or older. Services offered may include home-based care, transportation, adult day services, adult foster care, nutrition services and legal intervention in order to protect the adult. Services may also be arranged for individuals in emergency situations who lack the capacity to consent to services.

Sells pre-owned clothing and accessories, household items, furniture, books and toys at low thrift prices. Occasionally, new items are available. Families suffering severe loss may apply for a voucher of clothing. Donations needed include clothing in good condition, shoes and accessories, household items, books, furniture in good condition, and working appliances.

Provides an information and referral source for needed services that are available in the community, provides training for parents, and promotes an understanding of the special education process in our schools, provides support and information groups for families and educators of children with special needs, maintain a book and video library, promotes a working relationship between parents, educators, and our community resources.

Offers a multi-purpose facility providing active adults age 50 and older a variety of programs and services. The Center currently offers 100 programs and special events including fitness, travel, and life-long learning activities, plus socialization and volunteer opportunities. Many free services available to members include financial and personal counseling, tax assistance, and assistance with Medicaid/Medicare. Receives and investigates complaints of child abuse/neglect to determine if the act occurred and the amount of risk to the child involved. Removal or placement of children through the legal process may be necessary for the child's protection. Coordinators also provide counseling and ongoing supportive services to families with substantiated cases of child abuse/neglect. In addition, they promote community awareness and education of child abuse/neglect.
