Provides certain former employees, retirees, spouses, former spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates. This coverage, however, is only available when coverage is lost due to certain specific events. Group health coverage for COBRA participants is usually more expensive than health coverage for active employees, since usually the employer pays a part of the premium for active employees while COBRA participants generally pay the entire premium themselves. It is ordinarily less expensive, though, than individual health coverage. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides a COBRA premium reduction for eligible individuals who are involuntarily terminated from employment through the end of May 2010. The COBRA premium reduction under ARRA is not available for individuals who experience involuntary terminations after May 31, 2010. However, individuals who qualified on or before May 31, 2010 may continue to pay reduced premiums for up to 15 months, as long as they are not eligible for another group health plan or Medicare. The Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2010 signed by the President on July 22, 2010, did not extend the COBRA premium reduction. Mentor parents are ready to lend their listening ear and share their life experiences with those who contact and ask. The volunteer mentor parents are parents of children with Down syndrome who are trained in parent support and will help point families in the right direction for community resources.

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The CAP component is intended to provide assistance with heating equipment needs and emergency fuel outages. Fuel Assistance opens the second Tuesday in October. Crisis Assistance applicants must meet the following: income level, resource level. Deposits: Opens the first working day in November. May only receive once per lifetime per fuel type. (Natural gas, electric and LP gas) Heating Equipment: Opens November 1st or the first working day in November for Replacement, purchase, or repair of primary heating source. Primary Fuel: Opens the first working day in January. It is for those that did not receive fuel assistance. Requires cut off notice for electric and gas. Almost out of fuel oil, wood, coal or island purchased kerosene. Cooling Assistance: Is offered during the beginning in mid-June. Must meet eligibility requirements.

Provides a support group for persons with early memory loss and their spouse or caregiver. The Early Memory Loss Support Group provides a discussion group for people in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or related disorders (with simultaneous family caregiver group). To participate, people with memory loss must be diagnosed with a memory disorder, be aware of the diagnosis, be willing to attend the group, and have a family caregiver who will attend the caregiver's group.

Offers a comprehensive system of services and refers and/or connects these services to persons 60 years and older, their caregivers, and others advocating on their behalf.

This family reunification services offers free one-way tickets home for qualified runaway youth ages 12-21. All Home Free tickets must be initiated by the youth calling the NRS crisis line.

The CARITAS Furniture Bank works in close partnership with over 80 local non-profit, for profit and social service agencies to provide basic household furnishings to clients coming out of homelessness or other types of crisis. These agencies qualify to be a referral partner and refer individuals and families in need of basic household items.

For those facing financial hardship from unemployment, a family crisis, or a chronic medical condition, EnergyShare is Dominion's energy assistance program of last resort. There is no income guideline requirement, however, clients must have a disconnect notice. EnergyShare intake agencies determine eligibility for EnergyShare and may have additional requirements when qualifying customers for this program.
