A private sector, nonprofit downtown development organization dedicated to making the downtown area a unique and successful place to work, live, invest, and play. DRI is governed by a Board of Directors, comprised of 20 members representing retail, restaurant, professional, industrial businesses, and property owners in downtown Roanoke and the Roanoke region of Virginia.

Enhance services to residents providing continuing contact with the community. Volunteers are encouraged to work with the Volunteer Coordinator to plan, develop, and carry out new innovative services, programs, and special projects.

Provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing with clinical support services for homeless families

Provide diagnostic, treatment, and group therapy services for children with audiology (hearing) and communication disorders.

Provide Lunenburg County residents with referrals and appropriate contact information for other agencies to meet their needs.

Confidential counseling, diagnosis and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are provided during clinics with an appointment. Partner notification is offered.

MVLE Support Services provides therapeutic activities both on-site and in the community for individuals served. The goal of this program is to provide community inclusion, community education, and a path toward greater independence. Services are offered at all three of MVLE's Community Centers located in Springfield and Chantilly, VA.

The Young Adult Coordinated Care (YACC) program provides comprehensive support to adolescents and young adults (15-25) experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This service, modeled from OnTrackNY, offers a team of professionals to support individuals in reducing symptoms and increasing community integration. Services integrate a recovery-based, strength-focused approach, which relies on shared decision making, with cognitive enhancement therapy and support. With an early intervention focus, services are designed for individuals who have been experiencing symptoms for less than two years. Insurance is accepted.

Provides residents with comprehensive environmental health services such as food, water and building inspection, sewage disposal, septic and well permits, public food permits, regulation of public food establishments, tourist establishment sanitation and restaurant applications. Investigates reports of food illnesses, working with businesses and citizens to educate and correct deficiencies. Also investigates reports of raw sewage or other reports of ground water contamination.

The Cemetery Board regulates for-profit cemeteries that offer perpetual care services or pre-need burial contracts, and that are required to maintain trust fund accounts. Cemeteries owned and operated by churches, the state, and all counties, cities, and towns are exempt from licensure and the board's jurisdiction. Additional exemptions are given to certain non-profit, association and family cemeteries.

The AbilityOne program provides employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or have documented disabilities by delivering products and services to the federal government. These individuals are considered ready to work in a fully-integrated work setting, but need a supportive work environment and a low level of supervision.

Assists low income homeownersnwith critical home repairs. Consideration is given to elderly and the disabled. First concern is for the family to be safe, warm, dry and accessible. Promote healthy lifestyle choices that can combat chronic disease, educate the public about emergency preparedness and threats to their health, and track disease outbreaks in Virginia.

The Recreation & Parks Department offers a year-round program of recreational and leisure-time activities for all age groups and interest levels. These activities include a variety of classes, camps, athletic programs, special events, senior programs, teen programs, historic programs and more.

The Bluebird Tour Program provides enriching travel experiences for all residents age 55 and older who reside in Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

JCIL provides equipment on a loan basis to individuals with disabilities assists these in obtaining their own equipment, and on a limited basis will assist with purchasing needed technology. JCIL will assist in the development of loan applications, assembling appraisals, medical records, and other documentation required to support the application. Junction Center for Independent Living in conjunction with the Starkey Foundation and Hear Now ( WHEN AVAILABLE) assists persons with disabilities to obtain hearing aids and other devices to alleviate or eliminate barriers caused by limited hearing ability.

The CARITAS Furniture Bank works in close partnership with over 80 local non-profit, for profit and social service agencies to provide basic household furnishings to clients coming out of homelessness or other types of crisis. These agencies qualify to be a referral partner and refer individuals and families in need of basic household items.

Provides shelter, care and protection for animals. Seeks out suitable homes for animals and works to prevent cruelty to animals; works with many rescue organizations across Virginia. These rescue groups assist us by taking animals from our shelter and placing them in loving homes.
