Services offered may include home-based care, transportation, adult day services, adult foster care, nutrition services and legal intervention in order to protect the adult. Services may also be arranged for individuals in emergency situations who lack the capacity to consent to services.

The dogs that are paired with Special Needs students receive a minimum of four months guide dog training plus at least two months of additional training to support the specific needs of the student they will guide. To provide this level of personal and customized training, there are usually not more than 2 Special Needs students in a class. The waiting period to get into the Special Needs program, if an applicant is approved, is two and a half years.
