Resource Mothers is a program in which an outreach worker becomes a support person for pregnant and parenting teens. Any pregnant teen, 19 years or younger, is eligible for the program. These staff encourage the teens to complete education and build a future for themselves by providing parenting education, connecting teens to available resources, and teaching them about the care of a newborn/infant. They also provide car seat instruction and demonstration.

The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components: Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th. All crisis assistance is based on availability of funds. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. The Mission of Mercy (MOM) program operates mobile clinics in strategic locations throughout the state. MOM projects provide preventative, restorative, and surgical dental treatments. At each clinic, patients arrive onsite, register for services, and complete a health information release form. They are treated on a first-come, first-served basis and wait in line until their turn with a dentist. Volunteer dental professionals provide services that address each patient's most urgent need. Common treatments include cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and even dentures.

Provides for the administration of the Madison County Public Schools.

Provides monthly bags of non-perishable food to income eligible individuals and families. All food for the monthly supplemental bags is provided by the USDA. All food recipients are encouraged to contribute to the cost of operating the program by collecting and donating grocery bags, by volunteering or making a monetary contribution. The LCC also provides the intake for the Louisa County Emergency Food Pantry. The Emergency Food Pantry serves families and individuals in emergency or crisis situations. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case. All applicants will also be screened for USDA monthly food.

Child care center serves children between the ages of 2 1/2 to 5 years old. Offering a before and after school care program allows the CDC to provide service from 7:30AM to 5:25PM daily. Breakfast, lunch and two snacks are included in the weekly tuition.

Partial Hospitalization Program at Safe Harbor Recovery provides the support, structure and accountability needed for long-term recovery while also allowing clients to maintain work, school, or family commitments. This program provides the skills needed for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, such as alcohol or drug addiction, to achieve lifelong recovery. Our PHP is designed for people in recovery who want ongoing support while attending school or working.

Friendly Visitors make weekly social visits with older or homebound adults. Volunteers offer friendship and companionship to individuals looking for someone to spend time with. They share stories, listen and reminisce, play games, take walks and simply enjoy each other's company. Telephone Reassurance volunteers call every weekday morning to check in, chat and make sure everything is okay. Volunteers help start the day of an isolated individual on the right foot. They also offer peace of mind for those living alone.

Provides books, magazines, newspapers, microfiche, compact discs, books on tape and large print books. Offers personal computers with Internet access for public use. Offers programs for children, youth and adults. Also offers meeting space with audio visual equipment at no charge to non-profit organizations and for a small fee to for-profit organizations.

The Friends of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library is a 501(c)(3) entity recognized as such by the IRS. The Friends accept donations of books, audio and visual tapes and CDs and DVDs and records. Details of what the Friends want and do not want can be found on the appropriate page of the Friends' web site, along with information on when and how to make donations. Funds raised through the spring and fall book sales are used to support additional library programs and projects promoting literacy and personal development, and the development of library services. The Friends' newsletter, "Among Friends" appears three times a year - spring, summer and fall.

Emergency food assistance includes non-perishable canned/boxed food items. Families can receive a bag of canned goods, boxed goods, or both. Also provide feminine care products.

Onsite food pantry serves those who qualify. Eligible participants can receive food every month. Identification is needed. Serves southeast and northeast Roanoke City, eastern Roanoke County and Vinton.

A comprehensive additiction treatment center. Provide outpatient treatment and care for patients who are battling drug or alcohol addiction. Incorporates medication-assisted treatment (MAT), along with individual counseling, group therapy, social service support, and work on co-occurring disorders.

Family Advocacy promote healthy military family development through the prevention, identification, and treatment of intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect. As well as assisting commands in support of the involved service members and families. FAP stresses early intervention and education to protect victims and increase family competencies. WIOA Adult Goodwill operates the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult program for multiple Workforce Investment Areas in Virginia. The program is designed to help adults receive training in demand occupations and find employment. Career services are offered to all adults at Virginia Workforce Centers and Satellite Offices. These services include: Job search and placement assistance, including career counseling Labor market information identifying job vacancies, skills necessary for occupations in demand, and relevant employment trends in the local, regional, and national economies Initial assessment of skills and needs Information on available services and programs Follow up services to assist in job retention Individuals who qualify based on household income can also receive training services that provide industry recognized credentials in demand occupations in the area. Following training, individuals are assisted with finding employment. Training services include: Occupational skills training Skills upgrading On the job training Pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship training Academic and career preparation for training In limited cases, help with transportation and child care to attend training

Also provides morning and evening rush hour train service from Manassas to Union Station with 10 stations. Limited mid-day train service.
