MED-RIDE is a local transportation program designed to serve those persons in the New River Valley who do not drive or have access to a ride and cannot afford public means of transportation. MED-RIDE serves persons regardless of age or income level. This program relies on qualified volunteer drivers and community support. MED-RIDE coordinates with partner agencies to provide transportation, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, for individuals to get to their health-related services. It shares authority with the general district court to hear matters involving between $4,500 and $15,000. The circuit court has the authority to hear serious criminal cases called felonies. The circuit court also handles family matters, including divorce. In addition, the circuit court hears cases appealed from the general district court and from the juvenile and domestic relations district court.

If client wanders, caregiver needs to call 911 and reference Project Lifesaver client. 911 will dispatch Project Lifesaver Team with receiver to search for client with wrist band. Project is meant to bring peace of mind to family members. Personnel on call after office hours.
