Family planning is a preventive health service directly related to female reproductive health care. It includes abstinence education, providing contraceptives and reducing exposures to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It also includes improving a woman's general health so she can conceive and deliver a healthy infant and minimize her risk factors for the diseases and injuries that can decrease the length or quality of her life.

Provides advocacy and counseling services for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

Year-round volunteers provide labor and materials to rehabilitate the homes of DC and Alexandria's low income elderly, disabled residents and families with children, at no cost to the homeowner. Also assists non-profit agencies. Includes installing wheelchair ramps and lifts, stair lifts, grab bars, handrails, weatherizing, painting, yard work and other household repair and revitalization projects. Most work is done on the last Saturday of April but emergency work is done year-round.

MVLE Support Services provides therapeutic activities both on-site and in the community for individuals served. The goal of this program is to provide community inclusion, community education, and a path toward greater independence. Services are offered at all three of MVLE's Community Centers located in Springfield and Chantilly, VA.

The Young Adult Coordinated Care (YACC) program provides comprehensive support to adolescents and young adults (15-25) experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This service, modeled from OnTrackNY, offers a team of professionals to support individuals in reducing symptoms and increasing community integration. Services integrate a recovery-based, strength-focused approach, which relies on shared decision making, with cognitive enhancement therapy and support. With an early intervention focus, services are designed for individuals who have been experiencing symptoms for less than two years. Insurance is accepted.

Home-based care provides personal aide and hygiene care, light housekeeping, supervision and other supportive services to elderly and disabled adults to the extent that funds are available, so that they may remain in the community and out of institutional placement. Adults must meet all eligibility criteria to qualify and there may be a waiting list for service.

Pre-Admission Nursing Home Screenings are performed in home by a public health nurse and adult services social worker for patients needing assessment of care level needed and as a prerequisite of nursing home placement. Community based long term care services may also be received in the home, rather than in a nursing facility, and financial assistance for care may be available through one of Virginia's Medicaid Waiver programs.

The Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Clinic provides treatment and education to indivudals that have been exposed to an STI. The clinic provides free or low-cost, confidential evaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.

Radford Counseling Group provides: Psychosexual assessment and evaluation, treatment for sexually addictive behaviors, court mandated psychosexual risk assessment, court mandated sex offender treatment Services, assessment for deviant sexual arousal, assessment for deviant sexual interest utilizing The Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest-2, and polygraph services may be requested by employers, attorneys, others in the legal system, or a concerned spouse or family member.

The Energy Assistance Program consists of three components: Fuel Assistance assists low-income eligible households by supplementing home energy costs. Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. The Mission of Mercy (MOM) program operates mobile clinics in strategic locations throughout the state. MOM projects provide preventative, restorative, and surgical dental treatments. At each clinic, patients arrive onsite, register for services, and complete a health information release form. They are treated on a first-come, first-served basis and wait in line until their turn with a dentist. Volunteer dental professionals provide services that address each patient's most urgent need. Common treatments include cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and even dentures.

The Hanover CASA Program advocates for the best interests of children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court process. The CASA program trains and supervises volunteers who gather information that is shared with the court when making decisions about the needs of abused and neglected children, or other children involved in juvenile dependency cases.

Administers the Department of Planning and Community Development's Emergency Home Repair Program that provides emergency home repair assistance to low income property owners in the City of Fredericksburg. Services include roofing, plumbing and electrical repairs of an emergency nature for qualifying homeowners.
