The Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity Aging in Place (AIP) program makes accessibility, safety, energy efficiency and home improvements for seniors living in the City of Winchester and the counties of Frederick, Clarke and Shenandoah. Offers a multi-purpose facility providing active adults age 50 and older a variety of programs and services. The Center currently offers 100 programs and special events including fitness, travel, and life-long learning activities, plus socialization and volunteer opportunities. Many free services available to members include financial and personal counseling, tax assistance, and assistance with Medicaid/Medicare. Offers not-for-credit learning opportunities for community members age 50 and older. Ultimately, the program is a community of lifelong learners who explore topics together and do what the University of Lynchburg is known for — building friendships and connections that last a lifetime. Program features weekly presentations on a variety of engaging topics, taught by current and retired faculty and staff members or area educators and presenters. Ten classes are offered each semester (fall and spring), with occasional field trips during the semesters and over the summer. LIFE@Lynchburg is for people who love learning, want to dig deeper in their areas of interest, or discover something new.

Continuing Education - Virginia Beach, Westminster/Wesleyan Lifelong Learning Institute, Virginia Wesleyan University

Through a partnership with Virginia Wesleyan University, those living at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay can take non-credit courses in art, history, political science, psychology, religion, popular culture, and other subjects. Taught by Virginia Wesleyan faculty, the courses are offered at no cost to Westminster-Canterbury members on site, as well as on the Virginia Wesleyan campus. Those living at Westminster-Canterbury also receive free admission to the University's facilities, plays, concerts, lectures, and athletic events (post-season NCAA tournament play requires admission).
