The Mobile Library Service (MLS) is dedicated to providing quality service to assisted living centers, retirement communities, and daycares. A popular sight at many local events.
Jones Memorial Library is a research library and archive with collections in genealogy and local history. We collect, organize, preserve and make available materials for research on genealogy and the history of the Lynchburg area. The library is free and open to researchers some services such as photocopying of materials may incur a fee. Materials do not circulate and are available for use in the library. The Central Virginia Regional Library serves as a lifelong learning resource by providing access to information and assisting in its use for personal and community development. In addition to books, e-books, recorded books and DVD's, all Library locations offer programs and classes, meeting room use, wireless Internet access, and public use PCs. Fax service is available at each library for a fee to send faxes (not receive); notary service is available at each library (please call to make sure the registered notary is available).
House a special collection of curated new and trending books as well as programs for all ages. Programs include family story times, an adult book club and summer activities for teens. A children's area with seating and toys, two computer stations and an outdoor sitting area.

Offers a visual tek for low vision which magnifies words and images. A smaller version of a visual tek called "Max Enhanced Vision System" may be checked out and hooked up to your own television set. The library also offers Pocket Talkers which amplify sound.

The Talking Book Center is the local library for residents with print disabilities who are unable to utilize print materials found in local public libraries. The TBC provides patrons with audio books and magazines, along with an audio book player on long-term loan. This free service provided through the Library of Congress is supported locally by the localities served, as well as area United Way chapters in Greater Augusta and Rockbridge County. Accessible by the CATS bus.

The Alexandria Law Library provides print and electronic legal reference materials and the services of a professional law librarian for the benefit of the entire Alexandria community, including its citizens, government agencies, local businesses, the judiciary and members of the bar.

The non-circulating collection includes a variety of books and periodicals about Norfolk and Virginia, as well as Norfolk maps and photographs, high school yearbooks, and city directories for the Hampton Roads region. Nearly 200 years of Norfolk newspaper microfilms are available upon request. SMC's genealogy collection encompasses Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and other nearby states, with books, microfilm, and CDs to assist in family research.

Provides a Talking Book Center - a free library service for individuals who cannot read standard print materials due to a visual or physical handicap or learning disability. By distributing recorded books and magazines and special machines to play them, the TBC serves patrons of Planning District 6. The 'point of access' computer includes scanner, voice synthesizer, large print screen, a CD-ROM reader and a Braille printer.
