The City of Petersburg Department of Public Works provides a wide range of essential services relating to: Street maintenance, Solid waste and recycling, Traffic signals, maintaining parks and cemeteries, reviewing development plans, responding to emergencies, Providing safe and clean drinking water, and environmentally sound wastewater management.

The City of Alexandria's Street and Sewer Maintenance division provides maintenance and repairs for all City sewers, streets, sidewalks and fire hydrants; maintains stream beds, weirs and stream banks; maintains drainage tunnels, box culverts and stormwater pollution removal facilities; maintains bridges; and conducts snow removal and flood control operations.

The Manassas Park Department of Public Works provides water, sewer and trash collection services and maintains City streets and traffic signals.

Coordinates and maintains all signals and signs within the city street system. The Traffic Operation also provides and maintains a roadway signing network and pavement marking program to guide the motoring public; maintains City parking meters and collects meter revenues; and operates the vehicle impounding facility.

Comprised of representatives from the City of Roanoke's Office of Neighborhood Services, Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Management, Transportation Divisions, and the Western Virginia Water Authority. Answers citizens' calls for information, manage the tracking system for resolution of citizen complaints, assist citizens with their requests for service, and provide assistance for resolution of citizen's concerns.
