A continuum of intensive outpatient services for adults with serious substance use disorders, primarily offered in group therapy meeting multiple times each week. Two-day treatment services, one for those with a primary mental illness and one for those with a primary substance diagnosis, both meet for three or four hours each day. Those who have co-occurring mental and substance disorders are served in all groups.

RESPOND is a free service that enables you to speak with a trained mental health professional, any time of the day or night. RESPOND will provide the reassurance you need to cope with your concerns, whether for yourself or a loved one. Offers free psychiatric assessments, referrals, and admissions. Offers a variety of treatment options for alcohol and drug addiction, depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. Special programs for adults, adolescents, and children, and treatment is always provided in a confidential and comforting environment. RESPOND assessments are also available through Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and Pulaski Community Hospital.

A program of NRVCS Adult and Family Services. Provides what an individual would get in terms of education and therapy from a traditional residential substance abuse program while allowing the person to stay at home and continue with his or her regular job. The group meets three nights each week for ten weeks. Each night's session is for 3 hours. The maximum number for each group is 12 people. The group is open-ended so that people can join during any part of the ten-week cycle and gain full benefit. Individual counseling is a concurrent requirement.

Emergency Services is a 24-hour crisis intervention program that provides consultation services and assessment of individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues. The program is staffed by certified pre-screeners as mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Provides phone and face-to-face intervention which includes crisis intervention; pre-screening for hospitalization; working with the legal, judicial, healthcare and other referral sources; and securing inpatient beds or alternative services.
