Offers a variety of treatment options for alcohol and drug addiction, depression, anxiety, and a host of other issues. Special programs for adults, adolescents, and children, and treatment is always provided in a confidential and comforting environment. RESPOND assessments are also available through Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and Pulaski Community Hospital.

Connect with others in recovery through groups, activities and one-on-one support. The center is open to anyone (you do not have to be a client of Northwestern) that wishes to receive group or individual Peer Support. It also offers the use of the computer lab, T.V., movies, wi-fi, video games, books and endless resources for all recovery paths.

RBHA offers a variety of resources for individuals in need of substance use disorder treatment services. Types of services include outpatient, medication-assisted, and residential.

Same-day admissions process available to all City of Richmond residents seeking mental health and/or substance use treatment services through the RBHA. Rapid Access is how you start services at RBHA and are assigned to your ongoing service provider. Depending on your needs, you may also see a prescriber as part of this process.

Services at Culpeper Clinic can provide medication for the treatment of substance abuse. Individuals who are either on SAMAT medications (such as Suboxone or Vivitrol) or those who are candidates for this treatment are evaluated by Encompass Community Supports (ECS) medical staff. In addition to medical services ECS offers clinical services to include individual and/or group therapy.

Project LINK, funded in partnership with Planning District One, is an outpatient program for pregnant, substance-abusing women or mothers with dependent children in Lee, Scott, Wise counties and the city of Norton, Va., provides substance abuse treatment, individual, family, and group counseling, daily life skills groups, therapeutic recreation activities, case management and family involvement.

Provides phone and face-to-face intervention which includes crisis intervention; pre-screening for hospitalization; working with the legal, judicial, healthcare and other referral sources; and securing inpatient beds or alternative services.

Provides programs for drug addictions, primary addiction to opiates. Services provided include consultation and evaluation, maintenance treatment and medically supervised withdrawal. Pantops Clinic provides methadone and suboxone maintenance.

A program of NRVCS Adult and Family Services. Provides what an individual would get in terms of education and therapy from a traditional residential substance abuse program while allowing the person to stay at home and continue with his or her regular job. The group meets three nights each week for ten weeks. Each night's session is for 3 hours. The maximum number for each group is 12 people. The group is open-ended so that people can join during any part of the ten-week cycle and gain full benefit. Individual counseling is a concurrent requirement.

The Substance Abuse Screening & Subtle Inventory Assessment (SASSI-4) identifies high or low probability of substance use disorders and includes a prescription drug scale that identifies individuals likely to be abusing prescription medications. Objective decesions rules classify individuals as chemically dependent or as not chemically dependent. Identify early-stage chemically dependent individuals who are either in denial or who are trying to conceal their chemical dependency. In addition to being used as a screening instrument, the SASSI-4 also provides clinical insights into a respondent's defensiveness and willingness to acknowledge experienced consequences of substance use disorder.
