Adult Services programs provide consumers a single point of entry to the agency, crisis response and assessment, case management, and therapeutic services designed for specific populations meeting our admission criteria. Persons with mental disabilities can receive a comprehensive assessment to determine their mental health, intellectual/developmental disability, and/or substance use services needs, and be referred to the services which best meet those needs.

Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SWVMHI) is a 179-bed state psychiatric institute operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). The Institute serves adult and geriatric individuals. SWVMHI is the primary state psychiatric hospital for individuals located in Health Planning District III, far southwestern Virginia. Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute is accredited by The Joint Commission. and is eligible to receive third-party payments, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus.

Carilion Clinic Saint Albans Hospital (CCSAH) is a 36-bed inpatient treatment center located in Southwest Virginia near Radford. CCSAH offers comprehensive psychiatric treatment and chemical dependency programs.

Psychiatric hospital. Medical care, psychiatric treatment, supportive services and counseling for mentally ill adults. Treatment services include diagnostic procedures, psychological testing and therapeutic modalities. Provides referrals to patients who are ready to leave the treatment center.

Pathway Homes operates 2 ALFs, which are highly structured 24/7 programs that are licensed by the Department of Social Services (DSS). One ALF is a 37-bed program located in Fairfax and the other is an 8-bedroom home located in Prince William County.

This is an inpatient behavioral health unit that delivers individualized treatment strategies to male and female patients, 18 and older, who are voluntarily or involuntarily seeking treatment anxiety, depression or psychosis, or are an immediate danger to themselves or someone else. Parham also has specialty programming to deal with co-occuring medical conditions.
