Project Discovery is a community-based initiative that helps high school students stay in school and become the first in their families to attend college. The success of Project Discovery is the partnership between the community, public schools and colleges. STOP Incorporated implements Project Discovery in high schools in local high schools. Students in the 9th through 12th grades are eligible to participate. The initiative provides field trips to colleges and universities and financial aid application assistance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake and Norfolk
STOP's Technology Busprovides elementary to high school students with a mobile technology and training system that creates opportunities for inclusion in the computer programming industry. This initiative provides students onboard, at local multi-city stops, with code-building processes, mentorship and engagement to prepare them for future economic advancement. The Technology Bus provides learning opportunities in computer programming, software design, gaming and robotics and computer repair and maintenance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton

STOP's Youth Development initiatives also encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. Positive Action is for elementary students to focus on "feeling good" about themselves.
Project Aim is for ages 11-14 and provides them with the motivation to make safe choices to address deeper barriers to sexual risk prevention such as hopelessness, poverty, and risk opportunities in low-income environments. The children and youth who participate in these programs develop self-esteem, learn to make wise choices for themselves and focus on the importance of others.
The TOP (Teen Outreach Program), is an evidence based national program using leadership development classes and community service learning to lead teens toward productive decisions and positive behaviors. Leadership development topics include: self esteem, communication, values, goal setting, decision making, conflict resolution, relationships, and health education. This program takes place at 13 different partner locations and is for middle and high school students.

A variety of programs offered to inner-city youth and families at no cost. The Y On Wheels is a mobile YMCA. The program provides fitness and nutrition based programs designed to teach principles and methods of healthy physical fitness to children. The project brings the YMCA programming, mission, and values to communities and neighborhoods that do not have access to a YMCA facility or programming. In collaboration with the Live Healthy Lynchburg Initiative the project reaches out to inner city communities by offering free outreach programs that are designed to provide the Y experience for children and families who cannot afford them. Other programs include: Bright Beginnings, Angel Tree, and Healthy Kids Day. Outreach Swim lessons offered to children from inner city neighborhoods. The program works with elementary schools to identify children who need swim lessons. We provide group lessons to 2nd grade students. We collaborate with Jubilee, The High Apartments and Boy's and Girl's Club.

Project Discovery encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. This is the central administrative office for this program. Project Discovery is a proven and replicable program that will help any student succeed in high school and get into college. Over the last 11 years over 84% of our graduates have gone on to post secondary education. Our program is a proven mix to: *Mentoring; *Time Management Skills; *Study Skills; *Help with Remedial Classes; *Help with Advanced Classes; *Visioning and Planning for the Future; *College Admissions Help; *Financial Aid Assistance; *Financial Literacy; College Campus Visits.

Through YEL-J4K and ALE-J4U, we have been able to locally impact Food Deserts, Food Insecurities and Food Waste; provide Mentoring, intergenerational Training & Development (for Youth and Adults) and Career Coaching; and serve Seniors and our Communities. YEL-J4K was established in 2011 and has grown from an eight week program into a Year-Round, interactive, classroom and on-the-job training pre-apprenticeship! We connect Healthy Eating with Helping Youth, Seniors and our Communities. Our goal is to reduce the effects of Food Deserts namely Food Insecurity, Unemployment, Poverty, Crime, Chronic Disease and Mortality. Our Training & Development programs, MOBILE Fresh Produce Stands, 5-Day Meal Preps, Fruit & Veggie Delivery Service, Restaurant and Business Service Divisions (including Yard Care, Administrative Support, Senior Care, Flyer Distribution, Moving Services and Cleaning/Organizing) give our ambassadors a platform to help the Community, build their self-confidence and marketable skills and earn stipends!
