Provides information regarding George Washington and Jefferson National Forests in Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Craig and Bland Counties. The two national forests contain nearly 1.8 million acres; one of the largest blocks of public land in the eastern United States. The forests include 1,664,110 acres in Virginia, 123,629 acres in West Virginia, and 961 acres in Kentucky. The forest headquarters is the Forest Supervisor's Office in Roanoke, Virginia. The forests include the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and seven Ranger Districts.

Provides before and after school child care in all elementary schools in Fauquier county. FCCC also provides a weekly summer camp for children in Fauquier and neighboring counties.

Administers and provides all recreation programs and activities, park facilities, special events and services. Acts as a liaison to community groups providing recreational activities. Coordinates leisure opportunities throughout the community. The focus of the Department is to contribute to the quality of life and environment for their citizens.

Provides a wide range of leisure activities to the residents of Christiansburg. A Senior Citizens center is located inside the recreation center and has the same hours. The Senior Center provides recreational programs. Maintains public parks, recreation and swimming facilities throughout the county for recreational and athletic activities, and offer classes in leisure activities. These classes change and vary throughout the year.

The YMCA of Greater Richmond provides teens with programming the focuses on community service, social development, leadership training, and physical development. Some of our programs include Teen Leaders Club, Youth Enrichment Program (YEP), along with a variety of other programs.

Provides recreational activities for the citizens of Patrick County. The Recreation Department is responsible for administering and/or supporting a variety of recreational programs, including, but not limited to, elementary football and basketball, summer baseball leagues, soccer, adult volleyball, men's and women's softball, and a number of various recreation special events and programs. The Recreation Department is also responsible for maintaining the County leased recreational facilities at Rotary Field and the Fred Clifton Park at Lover's Leap and also provides maintenance support for other County owned parks and recreational facilities.

Provide enrichment of the quality of life for participants by providing a continuum of services that are integral to the development of neighborhoods. These include cultural enrichment, health and physical activities, social enhancement, personal development and life skills, outdoor and environmental education.

Special Olympics Virginia is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through work in sports, health education and community building, Special Olympics is addressing inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities which leads to a more welcoming and inclusive society.

Provides socialization and recreational events for seniors.

Provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Provides wholesome recreation activities to the community at nominal charges where necessary; including arts and crafts classes, workshops, swimming classes and sporting events.

All persons 50 years of age and older and their spouses are invited to join us for our trips and activities. Offers programs such as playing bingo, cards, luncheons, watching a movie, taking trips, participate in an exercise class or the Walking Club.

The King George Family YMCA offers a variety of programs designed to empower youth, adults, families and communities to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

Provides year round recreational programming in youth and adult sports and instructional activities; operates and staffs but does not maintain seven county parks and waterfront beach; serves in a modified harbor master capacity for the Yorktown Waterfront and cruise lines; staffs the County Arts Commission, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Youth Commission.
