The Building Better Futures (BBF) Program goal is to remove obstacles students face during their high school journey and to guide them on a path to post-secondary opportunities and success. Provides information and services on other special programs such as the trade act program, alien labor certification, veterans, persons with disabilities, older workers, youth etc. These services are provided at no charge to the consumer. In partnership with Tidewater Community College, Garden of Hope offers a free workshop, that enables participants the chance to write or update their (current)resume, sharpen their interviewing skills, learn some interviewing techniques and search for employment.
Offers job development, job placement, assessment, career counseling and support services. Also offers educational and employment training including adult basic education, English as a second language, job readiness and job retention training, career counseling, work training, job placement and follow-up services and supportive services.
Provides the general public with career resources and services in order to prepare a work force that is informed, capable, and ready for work. The services available at the Career Center include internet-ready computers, resume services, cover letters and job searches, interviewing techniques, fax, phone, a copier, resource library, educational videos, newspapers, magazines, computer tutorials, and career counseling. Job seekers can also open e-mail accounts to correspond with potential employers. The Albemarle Career Center is affiliated with the Virginia Workforce System. The Center is open to the public.
