STOP'S Workforce Development Program provides opportunities for participants to engage in in-demand training and certification that is relevant and accessible. This program was designed with the goal of earning a living wage for low-income households and individuals. All course content prepares participants to earn a leading national certification. This includes prep sessions and assistance with scheduling the exam for certification. Upon certification, participants will be assisted with securing gainful employment. Employment Supportive Services offers personal training in acquiring techniques necessary for seeking and maintaining a job. Services include interview techniques, job retention, employment counseling, referral and/or placement application completion, resume writing, and job readiness training. All participants in the program must be willing to pursue the necessary educational opportunities to enhance their employment skills. In addition, STOP provides bus tickets to participants of this program in an effort to assist participants in obtaining and retaining employment.

Provides access to a wide range of employment and training services through Virginia Workforce Centers.

The program, operated through local One-Stop Career Centers, provides adults age 18 and over with workforce preparation and talent development services and helps employers find the skilled workers they need. Workers and job seekers are assisted with searching for a job and researching labor market trends and demands to better evaluate career choices. Participants are also provided with occupational and technical skills training, GED preparation, continuing adult education, and employment placement services.

HumanKind provides community-based support services for children and families across the state of Virginia. We offer programs and services that instill hope and equip people with the tools to build a strong foundation for life. We serve more than 6,000 people throughout Virginia each year focused on helping individuals become more productive, healthier, and stronger. The Virginia Career Works Lynchburg Center offers individuals a full assortment of career planning services including: Orientation to the information and services available through the one stop system Workshops on jobs success and work maturity Initial assessment of skill levels, aptitudes, abilities, and supportive services needs Resume making and interview preparation Job search and placement assistance, and where appropriate career counseling and case management services Computer lab

Provides One Stop Job Center for integrated, user-friendly and responsive services to community of employers, workers and job seekers. Provides job service assistance including job matching, job referral, and job information as well as unemployment insurance benefits. Works in partnership with the community to provide various support services to individuals seeking employment. Also provides workforce services under the Dislocated Worker and Adult Program including assessing the needs of clients and providing eligibility determination, program suitability, career assessment, individual case management services, and funding for job training. Serves the counties of Rappahannock, Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, Orange, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson and the city of Charlottesville. Services available to job seekers include job referral and placement, referral to training, and job search skill building activities. Assists employers by screening and referring applicants for job vacancies, providing critical labor market information for business and economic planning, and coordinating Employer Advisory Committee activities across the state.

Goodwill Academy focuses on the basic skills needed to get and keep a job - with any employer or as an entrepreneur. Each participant in the Academy is assigned a Career Advisor to identify goals and coordinate their ongoing development. Each student in the Academy works with their Advisor to create a clear, well-communicated development plan and receives paid learning hours (on-the-job and classroom). Outside of the classroom, learning opportunities include job shadowing and internships in every area of the organization.

Academic, career and financial aid information for adults seeking to participate in higher education. Their purpose is to assist individuals in identifying job interests and skill levels. They also help a person develop goals for short/long term training, employment and education; assist in gaining the skills needed for success in today's workplace. Locating sources for financial aid and completing the applications through one on one appointments or group presentations.

Provides an Information Center that provides the general public with career resources and services in order to prepare a work force that is informed, capable, and ready for work. The services available include internet-ready computers, job information, job searches, fax, phone, a copier. The Greene County Job Spot is affiliated with the Virginia Workforce System and is part of the Piedmont Workforce Network. The Center is open to the public.

DBVI provides services and resources which empower individuals who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence. Services are provided through 4 main programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Teaching and Independent Living, Low Vision Services and Education Services. Most services are provided in the person's home, school, or workplace. Referrals are accepted from individuals, families, schools, doctors, and other community partners.
