JABA's Health Education Program focuses on wellness resources, including education, nutrition, fitness and healthcare access. Evidence-based courses encourage and support physical activity. Presentations and one-on-one consultations are also available to support members' health.

Provides free programs on a variety of health topics.

Health information and screening. The Crater District Area Agency on Aging provides information about health related issues. Activities are designed to prevent disease and promote good health of older persons.

Family Lifeline's Early Childhood Initiative offers three models of early childhood home visitation: Healthy Families, Children's Health Involving Parents (CHIP), and Parents As Teachers. We work in partnership with parents to offer health education and parenting guidance to pregnant persons and families with young children. Additionally, asthma case management services are provided to eligible children up to the age of 18 years.

Offers informational, wellness, and caregiver support presentations.

To support research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases; the training of basic and clinical scientists to carry out this research; and the dissemination of information on research progress in these diseases.

The Community Health Education Center provide information on general health topics, cancer and women's and family health. CHEC welcomes anyone with questions on any health topic. CHEC has print books and magazines, internet access, video viewing and a children's area. CHEC has materials for all ages and all reading levels. CHEC staff can help users find need information.

Arthritis Community Educators provide in-person and virtual patient and community education presentations, connecting the local community, patients and their loved ones to Arthritis Foundation resources and support.

Provides activities designed to prevent disease and promote the health of older persons. Services include health risk assessments; routine health screening; nutritional counseling and education; health promotion; physical fitness and group exercise; music and dance-movement therapy; home injury control; mental health screening; mental health education; information on Medicare coverage; medication management; information on diagnosis, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of age related diseases and chronic disabling conditions geriatric counseling and follow up health services counseling. Services are available to consumers unable to leave their homes.

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention, Childhood Immunizations, Childhood Obesity Prevention, Maternal and Child Health, and Senior Health Education.

Provides a voluntary, fund-raising health organization whose purpose is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke. Provides research, education and community programs on reducing heart disease and stroke.

Community Health Worker trained in public health to serve as a bridge between neighbors, health care systems, and state health departments. Provides: *Referrals for community resource assistance *Informational Community Clinics/Educational Talks/ Health-Related Guest Speakers *Representation at Resource and/or Health Fairs

Provides health information and some screenings (including blood pressure)in the community or at work sites, churches, worksites and schools to help individuals with questions regarding a variety of health topics. Educational programs which focus on changing lifestyle behaviors are an important component of the program.

Helps people in our chapter area who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias and their caregivers and families.

Connect people to vital resources and information regarding transportation services; access to food; affordable housing; healthy aging; end of life; dementia information and, livable / age-friendly communities. Provide educational programs and support to older adults in the community and provide support and programs to caregivers (including interactive videos on our website). Provide support to long-term care facilities through programs like iPADS for Seniors.

Nurse visits in rural JABA Community Centers and homebound settings in the Counties of Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson and the City of Charlottesville. The health services staff and volunteers perform some medical screenings. Provides education about nutrition, safety, medications, mobility, hygiene, foot care, and exercise. They also help facilitate coordination with participants' doctors and caregivers if requested by patient.

Offers community based group health education and blood pressure screening services.

Health education and prevention programs are of key importance in reducing the medical burden of chronic disease and injury in American society. New River Health District staff offer community programs on a variety of health topics such as nutrition, breast cancer screening, and modifying health risk behaviors, etc., and participate in health fairs and special health observances.

Teach lifesaving skills in classes throughout the region.

The Center provides important health information to the community through collaboration with other organizations.

Provides answers to questions about prenatal issues in both English and Spanish in a culturally appropriate manner; refers callers to local prenatal care services; sends out bilingual publications about prenatal issues.

Provides information hotline and educational materials for the public on cleft lip/palate and other facial anomalies. Also provides referrals to doctors and local support groups.

Offers education information, referral, and resource assistance for a wide variety of health issues. Education materials are provided at health fairs, wellness screenings, community locations, and for groups requesting specific topics.

The health department staff provides community health education, conducts immunization assessments in schools and day care centers and participates in a variety of community activities and partnerships.
