A staff member conducts an initial parent interview to determine eligibility as well as any need for other community resources. Once a family is enrolled, a family support specialist provides regular home visits from pregnancy until the child reaches the age of 3 or 4.

Description
Healthy Families provides voluntary, comprehensive home-visiting services that support at-risk expectant and new parents and help prevent poor childhood outcomes. Home visits are activity-based and focus on a variety of topics including healthy family functioning, family goal planning, maternal and child health, positive parenting strategies, child development, and school readiness. Home visitors also provide families with referrals to a wide array of community resources.
